NEW: Introduction to Equity and Anti-Oppression Concepts

Copies of handouts for Equity and Anti-Oppression Concepts will be provided, Part 1 and 2 is to be held for up to 25 participants—30 minutes toward communication and coordination time relating to Equity and Anti-Oppression Concepts.

NEW: Ramadan - The Fasting Month for the Muslim Community

The fasting month for the Muslim community, Ramadan, the 9th month of the moon-based Islamic calendar, is occurring from March 11 to April 9 this year depending upon the moon sighting. Muslim students, staff and faculty will be observing dawn-to-dusk fasting. Refraining not only from food and drink, but also tobacco products, sexual relations, and sinful behavior, devoting themselves to prayer, donations and study of the Quran. The Quran was revealed in this month upon the primary Islamic leader Mohamed (peace be upon him). The spiritual awards of good deeds are believed to be multiplied by 70 times during Ramadan. At the end of the month, Muslims will have the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration (tentatively on April 10th).

NEW: Aztlán Research Center Grant Funded Project Presentations

Please join us for the Aztlán Research Center Grant Funded Project Presentations on Thursday, April 4th from 1-3 pm in the Library’s LINC Lounge. It will feature presentations from four CSU Pueblo faculty members and one community member. They will focus on both curriculum development and research grants. The 2022 presenters will be Carmen Arteaga (Research Grant) and Chris Picicci (Research Grant). The 2023 presenters will be Juan Espinosa (Research Grant), Juan Morales (Course Development Grant) and Young Ji Yoon (Research Grant). Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

10th Annual Spring Symposium

The 10th Annual Spring Symposium: A Celebration of Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity invites undergraduate and graduate students from Colorado State University Pueblo to present their original research, scholarly and creative products to the university and public. The Spring Symposium will take place Friday, April 5, 2024 in the LARC (LINC), with the mission being a forum for dissemination and discussion of scholarly ideas and to foster interaction among students, faculty and the local community. Please read the 2024 Spring Symposium Call for Abstracts for complete information. Deadline to Submit a Presentation Abstract is Monday, March 25th, by 5 pm. Presentation abstracts submitted by the deadline will be given full consideration. Presentations submitted after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

On April 14, 2024 at 6 pm, the Adult Division of the SOCO Entrepreneurship Competition will be held at Wake Up Pueblo.

Parking and Safety Officer Positions

On behalf of Parking and Safety

The Parking and Safety Office is currently looking for student workers to work as Parking and Safety Officers. In this position you will issue citations to vehicles on campus, sell parking permits, answer phones and general parking questions, and to assist at the window as needed. We also help with campus events and will post signage or put out cones to reserve parking lots. Our office is open from 7am-5pm. Our employees are able to have flexible schedules that will work around their school / athletic schedules. If you are interested, please bring a copy of your resume and current class schedule to the Parking and Safety Office located in the Administration Building Room 118. We will have you fill out a parking application when you arrive and will contact you to get an interview scheduled after all paperwork (resume, class schedule, parking application) are turned into our office.

Spring cleaning? Declutter and donate to make a difference! We will be accepting your gently-used furniture, home goods, clothing, kids items, sports equipment, or anything that still has use (not trash!).

- Faculty/Staff/Non-Resident Students: Drop off donations at the residence halls May 17th 11am-1pm and 4pm-6pm and May 18th 10am-1pm

- Residents in Halls: Donate at the collection bins in the main lobbies during checkout week.

- Residents in Apartments: Donate at the halls or get a donation pass from your Area Coordinator for larger items to get permission to leave it behind.

Your donations benefit CSU Pueblo students with unmet basic needs by providing them with bus passes, gas cards, and grocery cards through the Student Affairs Basic Needs committee.

REMINDER: Changes to the Aladdin Catering Billing Process

This notice is a reminder regarding catering invoice billing and CaterTrax. A change was implemented to the Aladdin Catering Billing Process, these changes went into effect January 2nd, 2024.

Please review the following:



Payment Methods:

All catering bookings will be processed using a P-Card, replacing the use of an index code/account number.

If Order Exceeds P-Card Limit:

If the catering expense is expected to exceed the P-Card limit of $3,000, you will need to initiate a purchase order in the KFS system. This should be completed at minimum 10 days prior to the event. A purchase order number should be sent to Jerry Carter with Aladdin.

If Your Department Does Not Have a P-Card:

You will need to work with Cabinet-level supervisory authorities to utilize division or other department cards.

Authorized Business Function Forms (ABFFs):

To ensure seamless service, all ABFFs must be submitted at minimum, 10 days prior to the event. Please note that Aladdin has been instructed not to service any catering without the submission of this form or a P-card on file.

Payment Confirmation:

For transactions processed through the P-Card, you will receive a "Paid" invoice upon the completion of your event. This invoice will serve as your official receipt for the transaction.

It is important to note that all content that is submitted to this form MUST be in landscape orientation and not portrait, and that the resolution must be at least 1920x1080 pixels to be approved.
