AGRONOMY WEEKLY NEWS

We are back! Although last week was feeling more like spring, yesterday, March 19th, actually marked the first day of spring for 2024. With spring officially here, we are happy to announce our return to regular hours. Starting Monday, April 1st, our offices will once again be open from 8-5pm! We are looking forward to another great growing season! As always, we encourage you to reach out to our sales team throughout the growing season to lean on their expertise on chemical, fertilizer, and seed. Our company's agronomy expertise is no additional cost to you, but part of the service-centric experience we look to provide our farmers!

Wheat

The wheat crop is really starting to green up and it is looking fantastic! Due to the mild winter, there was not a lot of environmental stress on the crop, but we are not 100% out of the woods yet. Some clover has been picked up and applied, but there is still a significant amount to go.

We expect to see some split application Nitrogen + Sulfur being applied as soon as mother nature allows and the ground is fit. If you know you are going to have one of our Wanstead applicators custom apply your wheat fertilizer, please do not hesitate to let your agronomist know. Planning ahead will lead to more efficient and timely applications when the weather allows!

Preparation

Most seed is now in for the 2024 year and we are getting it ready for customers. We will start to call to arrange seed pickups/delivery in the near future, and we will be doing the same for chemical orders as well! If you would like to beat the rush and pick up your order early, please give us a call and we can accommodate that!

If you have not yet met with your agronomists to go over crop plans there is still time! If you are interested please feel free to call your agronomist to set up a meeting! This extends for soil sampling as well. If you are wanting to get your fields sampled, please let your agronomist know and they can get it taken care of when the weather allows.

We are excited for another growing season working alongside our customers!

Agronomy Tip of the Week

We know time is tight for our farmers during the farming season, so this year, we are kicking off a social media campaign to summarize a weekly takeaway or highlight that our agronomists really want to push each week. "Agronomy Tip of the Week".

Today's tip, from our Agronomist Natalia is "Plan ahead! The spring battle is right around the corner and planning your chemical, fertilizer, seed, delivery, and custom application needs ahead of time will allow things to run much more efficiently for you! Reach out to your agronomist if you haven't already!"
