Flood Hazard Underscores Need for Emergency Preparedness

This week, communities in Upstate New York, Southwestern New Hampshire, and Vermont are experiencing catastrophic flooding. Healthcare providers are in emergency response mode to support individuals impacted by this natural disaster.

FEMA provides guidance to support communities with emergency response to flooding events. The IPRO QIN-QIO team is positioned to provide tools and resources and connect you with others who have successfully navigated similar emergencies. Please contact us if you have questions or need assistance with emergency preparedness and/or response. Learn more at our Emergency Preparedness: Back to Basics educational series. Explore "What's the Worst That Can Happen" at session 2 on Thursday, July 20 at 12:00 pm ET.

Vaccine Resources Offer Updated Guidance

With the recent immunization recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), providers have access to many resources to help guide decision making. Vaccine-specific ACIP recommendations can be found here. CDC offers FAQs for the Interim Clinical Considerations for COVID-19 vaccination that include vaccine use and schedule, age transition, and considerations for people who are immunocompromised. CMS Medicare Learning Network recently updated their Medicare Part D Vaccines Fact Sheet. This fact sheet explains vaccine coverage under drug plans and vaccine claims submission options.

COVID-19 Hospitalizations, Deaths Trending Down; Vaccination Rates Need Improvement

While COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and death rates continue to decline, vaccination remains a vital tool to protect public health. One dose of the updated (bivalent) vaccine is required for individuals to be considered up to date.
