Positively Dover

African American Festival

June 24, 2023

Legislative Mall

Brought to you by the Inner City Cultural League this long standing event - "Positively Dover" was started in 1991 (Congratulations on your 32nd year!) of bringing Dover together. This event is an excellent meeting place for all ethnic groups to exchange cultural and artistic experiences and create a more diversified, tolerant and respectful attitude toward one another.

The Festival offers the opportunity for visitors to explore the African and African American culture through vendor exhibits, and high level artistic entertainment in an atmosphere reflecting modern day African Outdoors Marketplaces.

If you have never seen the Sankofa dancers dance, you are missing out! Be sure to join us for a great day, with amazing talent, great food and family fun!

Take a few minutes to see if you qualify!

Literally THOUSANDS of people in Dover qualify and are not taking advantage of the free service.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a federal benefit that aims to connect these individuals by providing eligible households with a discount of $30/month toward their home Internet bill. In addition, the benefit provides a one-time $100 discount toward a connected device through a participating provider. At this time, only 26% of eligible households have applied for the benefit due to a lack of awareness, lack of trust in the program, or inability to enroll due to application barriers

High-speed home Internet allows Americans to work remotely, send their children to school and access healthcare, job training, critical government services, and to keep in touch with loved ones.’’ said Mayor Christiansen. “We are committed to closing the broadband affordability gap in Dover so that every resident has equal access to the opportunities of the digital age.”
