As we step into March I am excited to bring you our latest newsletter. Don't forget to spring forward Sunday, March 9 at 2 AM.


First and foremost, the ordinance regarding dogs in parks has changed! Grab a leash and bring your best friend to one of the City parks! More information regarding the change in the article below.


Additionally, I invite you to join us for the thrilling CLUE event happening March 8 from 2 PM - 6 PM downtown presented by the Plymouth Downtown Arts and Merchants! It's a fantastic chance to check out local downtown businesses and put your detective skills to the test. Check out the article below for more information.

Fire Department Update:

Volunteer Firefighter and EMT Recruitment


Are you ready to make a difference in you community? Do you have a passion for helping others? The Plymouth Fire and Rescue are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join their team as Volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)

Requirements:

  • Must me at least 18 years of age
  • A commitment to learning and completing required training

  • Prior experience or certifications are a plus, but no necessary. All skill levels are welcome!

Spring Primary Dates and Times for In-Person Absentee Voting

March 18 - March 20, 2025 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM; March 21, 7:30 AM - Noon

March 24 - March 27, 2025, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM; March 28, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Pick-up is regularly scheduled in March and April. The full 2025 schedule is available here.

The city website has a Broken Trash Bin Replacement Request Form. Forms are submitted to Waste Management for processing.

City Hall Updates:

Ordinance Update - Dogs in Public Parks


Common Council passed Ordinance #5 of 2025 allowing dogs in public parks. Previously dogs weren't allowed in City parks.

Friendly reminders going forward:

  • Your dog must be on a leash unless its in the fenced dog park
  • You need to pick up after your dog
  • Your dog may not be on the playground
  • Your dog must be on the walking paths in cemeteries

Don't forget to license your dog by March 31! $30 late fees are applied April 1. Dogs neutered/spayed are $8. Dogs not neutered/spayed are $15. Please remember to bring proof of rabies at the time of registration.

This Spring, Plymouth Utilities will continue construction on Substation No. 5 in the Town of Mitchell, which will enhance electric service reliability in the southwest quadrant of the Utilities service area. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at the Plymouth Arts Center with Celtic Folk as they present three shows of the ever-popular, "A Wee Bit Irish!"

Department of Public Works Updates:

Park Rentals


Rental of park facilities for the 2025 year is here! The facilities are rented on a first come - first serve basis. Please come to the Clerk/Treasurer's Office located at 128 Smith St. to rent a facility. Forms are available at City Hall and online. The rental form and fee will be needed before your name can be added to the calendar.

The Plymouth Ice Shack is closed for the season due to the warm weather. Thank you for a great season!

PHS Presents "Legally Blonde the Musical"


Determined to get her boyfriend back, Elle in ingeniously charms her way into Harvard Law School. While there, she struggles with peers, professors, and her ex. However, with the support of some new friends, she quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.


Shows at 7 PM nightly Thursday, March 6 - Saturday, March 8 and 2 PM Sunday, March 9 in the PHS auditorium (enter Door 1); tickets $10 in the PHS office & at the door (if any remain)


Police Updates:

Pedestrian Safety


Wisconsin state law requires drivers to yield to pedestrians crossing the street at marked crosswalks and intersections without marked crosswalks. Drivers should never pass another vehicle that has stopped to allow a pedestrian or bicyclist to cross the street. Drivers must also yield to pedestrians walking on a sidewalk at alleys and driveways. Pedestrians must yield to vehicles when crossing the street where there is no intersection or crosswalk. Pedestrians should never step in front of a vehicle suddenly or when the vehicle does not have sufficient time and space to yield. Pedestrians should walk on the left side of the street if there are no sidewalks. Bicycles that are operated on the street must obey all traffic laws, the same as any other vehicle.

Library Updates:

Seed Library


The Seed Library at the Plymouth Public Library will be open soon. Use FREE, locally donated seeds from the library to grow your own vegetables and flowers. Then, let some go to seed and return some of the next generation seeds for others to borrow. The seed library is located at the library, 130 Division St., upstairs to the the right of the check-out desk (in the old card catalog drawers).
