March 2024

Museum Exhibit Closing Celebration

After twelve months and thousands of visitors, the first iteration (not the last) of our museum exhibit closed on February 18th, 2024 at the Museum of Natural History in Eugene. Thank you to all who attended and to the many people who made this possible through their work at the Museum.

Enjoy this short video highlighting our closing celebration featuring many guests and speakers Professor Judith Raiskin and Todd J. Braje - Executive Director of the Museum of Natural and Cultural History at the University of Oregon. Video edited by Research Assistant Chrys Sotos with images by G. Chesler and Jack Liu.

Our Storytelling event has been rescheduled!

Join us (today!) March 14th, 2024 at 6pm at the The Museum of Natural and Cultural History with storytellers Sarah Douglas, Lynn Pinckney, and PJ Rees, moderated by Judith Raiskin.

Decades of dynamic LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff made a big impact on the University of Oregon campus and in Eugene. Come hear former and current University of Oregon faculty and students reflect on their efforts to create community and fight discrimination, and how those efforts are reflected in campus life today.

*This event was rescheduled during the January ice storm.

Did you visit the Outliers and Outlaws Museum Exhibit?
As we move forward with our hope to relaunch the Outliers and Outlaws exhibit in other museums and community spaces, we need your help. Did you attend the exhibit at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History in Eugene? Please share with us by email what the exhibit meant to you. What did you think about long after you left? What did it feel like to be in the space?
Your words will help us convey the impact of this exhibit to future museums and community spaces.
Please send your email with your name and age (if we can include that information) or wish to remain anonymous. And a quote that we may include in our materials moving forward.
Email us: how did the exhibit impact you?

Thank you for Donating!

Thanks to so many of you, we achieved our fundraising goal! Through the generosity of 90 donors, we raised $25,100 for post-production of our feature documentary film Outliers and Outlaws.

Please expect updates on the film's progress moving forward in the newsletter and on our social media accounts.
