Storm Adventure Race - Final Update
Greetings Adventure Racers,

I hope you're all gearing up for a fun long weekend. I thought I'd get this last pre-race email out early so everyone has time to prepare. Nothing terribly new here, just a few last-minute updates to make the race go smoothly for everyone. Here goes:

Waivers & Medical Forms. We moved to online waivers and medical forms this year. There won't be paper copies available at kit-pickup on the day of the event, so be sure everyone on your team has filled these out prior to arriving at the host site as cell coverage around Albion Hills can vary. Each person will receive an email confirmation they've filled out the waiver along with a pdf copy (you won't receive an emailed copy of the medical form). We'll need you to show this waiver email and confirmation to event staff at kit pick-up. Here are the links:

Race Kit Pickup. A few changes for Race Kit Pickup this year. We won't have a gear check at kit pickup, so no need to bring mandatory gear with you. However, we will be having gear checks on the course, so be sure you're carrying the proper gear or you could face a time penalty or disqualification depending on what gear is missing. i.e. not having certain safety items like bike helmets, or life jackets would result in disqualification. We also won't require all members of the team to come to kit pick-up, however, any missing members must have completed their waiver and medical form and should forward that confirmation email to whomever on the team is attending kit pickup. Teams should know their team name and what category they're in (see team listings below) prior to attending Kit Pickup.

Team Listings. Team lists with Bib Numbers assigned can be found at the links below for each course. Feel free to label gear such as; life jackets, personal paddles, bike helmets etc. with your team number and/or name.

Arriving at Albion Hills Conservation Park & Spectators. When you arrive at the park be sure to tell the gate staff you're with the Storm Adventure Race and they'll let you in as your park fee is covered in the event entry fee. However, if you have non-racing friends or family accompanying you they'll need to purchase a park pass. These can be pre-purchased to avoid delays at the gate. Follow this link to pre-purchase park passes for spectators. Please be sure to park in the lots designated for our event (Cedar Grove 1 & 2, Trailview and the small lots near the Chalet) as detailed in the Race Info Packages.

Results and Pictures. We're aiming to have results and pictures posted on the results page and to our Flickr account in the afternoon or early evening after each day of racing.

Racer Info Packages. Finally, if you haven't done so already, be sure to preview the Racer Information Packages posted on the website with all the race weekend details for the 3 courses being planned. These are a must-read for all planning to attend. Click one of the links below to view your Racer Information Package:

That's all for now. If there are any questions, or concerns feel free to email anytime.

Wishing everyone a fantastic Victoria Day Long Weekend!

Sincerely,

Bob Miller
