Announcements

Honduras/Haiti Collection Bottles

Each spring, WCS students fill water bottles with coins and bills to raise money to support orphanages in Haiti and Honduras. Upper School Bible Teacher and Coach, Steve Hawley, who organizes this completely voluntary collection has been passing out the Honduras/Haiti collection bottles throughout the week. Donations will be accepted through the first week of May, but we will always accept them. Students may bring the money-filled bottles back to school to empty it into the class jug every time they fill it.

The color scheme for this year's bottles was chosen by our third graders taught by Mrs. Rivera. The 2025 bottles, yellow with teal lids and white print, will belong to the students at the end of the project.

This ministry has become part of the fabric and tradition of WCS, and we have collected approximately $210,000 since 1998, with every penny going directly to aid two Christian organizations. To learn more about the organizations that benefit, click the following links:

2025 Wildcat Dash

It’s time for our 7th Annual Wildcat Dash! Last year’s event was a huge success and fun for the entire family! We are looking forward to even more fun with you this year! All proceeds from the Dash go to improving the educational opportunities of our students. See the attached flyer for all the details!

The Wildcat Dash will be held on FRIDAY, April 4^th, beginning at 5:00pm at the WCS Athletic Complex at 10402 Fondren Rd. The gate will open at 4:40pm and the race begins promptly at 6:30pm. There will be a silent auction, food for the family and Kona Ice. (cash or credit accepted) WCS students and their friends and families will share in the joy and fellowship of physical activity while also raising money to benefit the school.

Dash T-Shirts are now available for purchase for $35! Students who purchase Dash shirt will be able to wear this year's Wildcat Dash T-shirt with jeans every Thursday for the remainder of the school year!

Sophomore and Junior Serve Day

The Sophomore and Junior classes will be having a Serve Day on Monday, March 31st. They will be volunteering at Impact Houston Church of Christ with their homeless ministry. Students will be organizing, cleaning, prepping, and serving lunch for the homeless. The bus will leave from WCS at 8:00 a.m. and will arrive back to school by the end of the school day. The group will eat lunch at Impact provided by their ministry team. Once we leave Impact, the students will skate the afternoon away at Dairy Ashford Skating Rink off of i10! The event is paid for, but if they would like to bring money for snacks, they are more than welcome to.

Students will need to wear a WCS spirit shirt, jeans, and closed toe shoes with socks (no Crocs/Uggs). If you would like for your child to not attend, please contact Mrs. Ballard.

Cheer Tryout Prep Clinics

We will be offering a 3 day cheer clinic beginning after spring break. This will be a great chance to get ready for the upcoming cheer season as well as tryouts that will take place in April. This clinic is open to girls in grades 4th-11th.

Through the Arts

Worship is an integral part of the culture at WCS. We’re excited to share how our students worship God at school for the next few weeks, beginning with creativity. WCS recognizes creativity as a powerful means of glorifying God. WCS art teacher, Ms. Keese, and one of our talented AP art students, Alexis, recently shared their unique experiences of using their gifts and talents to worship God.
