A Welcome Note from the Multimodal Operations Director

We are excited to bring you better communication in the way of this newsletter! The Transit Section in the Multimodal Operations Division at MoDOT is committed to being transparent with each of you, our partners and customers.

My name is Jerica Holtsclaw and I’m the Director of the Multimodal Operations Division and have been in this role since August 2022. I have been at MoDOT for over 20 years and enjoy working with our external customers, you, to get programs delivered.

We have had several federal audits over the past six months, including a Financial Audit, Drug and Alcohol Audit and our State Management Review Audit. These audits give both you and MoDOT Transit a chance to refresh our knowledge in the federal programs that we administer and to ensure the success of these programs for years to come. Our team stands committed to ensuring knowledge is being shared and programs are being delivered while adhering to the required federal and state regulations. These programs are vital to the quality of life in Missouri, and we are proud to be part of that endeavor.

Please be looking for more training opportunities to come your way in the near future. I look forward to seeing the results that our partnership will provide.

Welcome to MoDOT's Transit Newsletter!

My name is Christy Evers and I am the administrator of transit here at the Missouri Department of Transportation. I have been in this role for about a year and a half and am no stranger to transit, serving as program manager for the Section 5310 program and the Missouri Elderly and Handicapped Transportation Assistance Program (MEHTAP) prior to my departure from MoDOT in 2018. Since my return, it has been busy to say the least, but my passion for making a difference in the lives of those we serve is what drives me to ensure that the MoDOT Transit Team is an effective partner to transit agencies across the state.

I want to thank you for the work that you do to safely serve Missourians' transportation needs. MoDOT is proud to be your partner and we look forward to making 2023 a success! The past year has brought record funding to Missouri, at both the state and federal levels, and MoDOT’s objective is to deliver transit projects that promote safe and innovative transportation systems across Missouri.

The struggles endured by everyone during the pandemic have been surreal. Through it all, we've remained steadfast in our commitment to serve others. Hard work and the desire to overcome the trials of the past few years have resulted in our continued success! It’s this dedication that continues to improve the health and well-being of transit riders in every area of the state.

This year, MoDOT Transit plans to bring enhanced compliance workshops, training, communications on regulatory changes and available funding opportunities to ensure your success in providing quality transit services to Missouri riders. One way we'll do this is through the InTransit newsletter, and all you have to do is subscribe!

Here's to a successful 2023 and a year of rebuilding trusted partnerships!
