What's Happening in Children's?
Spring Has Arrived in the Children's Department!
We have lots of spring-themed programs this month – not to mention our special Life-Size Candy Land Game that we’re offering during April vacation! And after you’ve played the game, be sure to stop by the Friends of the Library’s “Chill Out” ice cream fundraiser – a very tasty way to help support the programs and initiatives you enjoy here at the library.

This month we also begin a new program series for our youngest patrons and their parents, “Peaceful Baby with Sheryl White”: this eight-week program covers various approaches to strengthening the connection between caregivers and babies, including infant massage, baby sign language, relaxation techniques, and insights into infants’ development.

We’ve noticed quite an uptick in children signing up for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge, and kids love posing for photos in front of our readers’ rainbow to show their amazing progress! We are happy to see so many caregivers and children enjoying reading together and laying a strong foundation for children’s future success as readers and learners. Come by the Children’s Department to learn more about this fun and enriching opportunity!

As ever, we’ll also have our usual variety of preschool programs, storytimes (including a bilingual program), science sessions, LEGO and game programs, and craft clubs – keep an eye on the Children’s Department calendar and Facebook page to learn about these and other upcoming programs!

Happy April, and Happy Reading!
