Letter from our Director

Greetings from the staff here at Safe Harbor of Bucksnort. We'd like to start off by telling you we appreciate your interest in Safe Harbor of Bucksnort and you taking the time to read this newsletter gives us the opportunity to inform you of events and advances at this location. A lot has changed over the last few months with renovations and upgrades going on. We would like to announce that we have not stopped our primary focus and goal, helping those in need through the power of Christ. In these times more so than others there is many souls that need reaching.

This quarter at Safe Harbor of Bucksnort has been filled with many exciting activities. We took the guys to Winter Jam in Nashville and to a Wrestle to Recovery event towards the end of March. We had a great cook out and you could feel the fellowship. We are almost done with our full room remodel and we have installed commercial washers and dryers for the clients.

To anyone reading this, if there is someone that you know needing our program, please feel free to call upon us.

Celebrating Success

We celebrated the graduation of 33 clients in the 1st Quarter here in Bucksnort. Graduation is a celebration of not only their achievements in the Safe Harbor program but also the culmination of personal growth and development. It is a time we reflect on the challenges they overcame and the person they have become.

As they move forward into the next chapter of their lives, they carry with them the experiences and lessons learned, which will undoubtedly serve them well in the future. We are excited to see them going home being the men that God intended them to be!

What is purpose?

Purpose is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

A thriving community is built upon a foundation of support, collaboration, and shared values. When community members come together with a common purpose and a sense of belonging, they can accomplish incredible feats. Strong communities provide a network of resources, encouragement, and opportunities for growth and development for all its members.

Safe Harbor of Bucksnort & Safe Harbor of Erin together at Wrestling for Recovery 3. A great event to experience the unity of sobriety. All Praise, Honor, and Glory to God the Father!

We want to thank Michael Keeton and his mother, Doris, for coming out and performing some old time hymns for the guys.

Baptisms

During the 1st Quarter 8 men were baptized in Bucksnort. We celebrated the beginning of a "new" life for these clients, as they publicly professed their faith through baptism.

We want to encourage and support them as they continue to grow in their relationship with God and learn to walk with faith.

Client of the Quarter

"I came to Safe Harbor to get my life back on track and to provide for my family. Safe Harbor is a lifeline that I've found that is guiding me back to life. Personally, I have never felt this way, I have always felt like I didn't deserve a life until now.

From my 10 yr addiction with every drug you can get to your hands on to believing that with God life is possible. I appreciate everything the staff does and is doing to help me. " - J.J.

Staff of the Quarter

I would like to share with you our newest staff member Mr. Robert Booth, our Program Coordinator. He has proved himself to be reliable and a dedicated team player. Mr. Booth takes on any new challenge with a YES!

He is determined and God minded; reading his bible and keeping the word of God at the forefront of his mind. He expresses that he loves giving back and helping with clients' needs. We hope to see many more years with Robert as a Christian Soldier fighting on the front lines.

Partner of the Quarter

I am proud to name GSM Outdoors, as our Q1 Partner of the Quarter. GSM Outdooors develops, manufactures and distributes outdoor sports products. Its products include digital infrared motion detector scouting cameras, laser sights and super-bright LED, halogen, and krypton lighting products. The company was founded in 1999 and is based in Grand Prairie, Texas. The two Parsons TN locations manufacture hunting blinds and turkey calls.

GSM currently employs 10 clients and we are positioned to add 4 more in the next week. The communication with Shane and Trevor is seamless, and they go out of their way to make sure the clients feel welcome . I am excited about this partnership for the company and our clients as well.
