Council Approves Replacement of Ice Pad at North Dufferin Community Centre
In response to the resounding support expressed by 78.5% of Mulmur residents, Council has voted to amend the 2024 capital budget, and allocate funds to cover all expenses associated with replacing the ice pad and roof at the North Dufferin Community Centre (NDCC). The maximum cost for this crucial project is set at $1,630,000, with funding sourced from reserves and supplemented by any received contributions.
Staff have been directed to form a fundraising committee, tasked with spearheading efforts to secure additional financial support for the project. This committee will play a crucial role in reaching out to local businesses, organizations, and community members to solicit donations and sponsorships.
The decision to replace the ice pad at NDCC is driven by a recognition of its importance as a hub for recreational activities and community gatherings.
Council's decision to move forward with renovations is indeed a positive step towards enhancing the community's well-being and vitality. By investing in infrastructure and facilities, they demonstrate a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents.
