Pawsitive Program Updates!

  • Congratulations to PPP students for successfully passing their end of quarter 1 exam! The prerequisite courses included studies in Dog & Cat Anatomy, Basic Health & Emergencies, Nutrition, Common Breeds, Body Language & Animal Behavior, Basic Handling, Enrichment, Special Topics, and Wellness.

  • Our entire team – administration staff, instructors, pet care techs, groomers, and students are Pet CPR and First Aid Certified by CPR Seattle. You can take comfort in the fact that if there were ever an emergency with your pet while in our care, everyone at PPP is trained to respond.

  • PPP is thrilled to announce that we have begun to bring dogs back to the program for training as Service, Therapy, Facility, and Paroled Pets!

  • Behind the scenes, PPP is working on a new website as well as an app so you can schedule your boarding, doggy daycare, board and train, and grooming services through a mobile device or computer as well as pay for services with a credit card. Coming soon!

  • We are so excited to announce now that COVID restrictions are lessening, Department of Corrections is allowing PPP to welcome back our volunteers! If you are interested in working with PPP staff and program participants by running dogs to and from public access, supporting data entry projects, or if you have experience or knowledge in the pet care industry and are interested in teaching classes – please reach out to volunteer@prisonpetpartnership.org.

  • PPP is participating in the Kitsap Great Give April 11. This is your opportunity to support our work in training and placing service dogs with community members at no cost and providing reentry programming to incarcerated individuals.
