Spring Clean Up in Old Ottawa East

Join the Old Ottawa East Community Association (OOECA) and CAG to clean up Old Ottawa East parks, pathways, roads and river shorelines on May 10 from 10:00am to 12:00pm!


Bring your own cleaning gear or pick up your gloves and garbage bags at Old Town Hall (61 Main Street) or Brantwood Fieldhouse (39 Onslow Crescent).

There will also be a post clean-up refreshment and social at Old Town Hall at 12:00pm! Register to collect your High School volunteer hours by emailing Info@OttawaEast.ca

Tamarack Race Weekend: Volunteer with CAG

CAG is excited to be hosting a water station during the Tamarack Race Ottawa Weekend, and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lend their help!


When: Morning of Sunday, May 25 (start-time of 7:00am)

Where: Colonel By, about 5-10 mins walk from Old Town Hall (exact location to be announced)


Volunteer duties would include setting up the station, handing out water to race participants and helping to clean-up. No experience needed, everyone is welcome and its a great way for high school students to fulfill their volunteer hours!

PA Day Camp: April 25 (CECCE & CEPEO)

Hey CECCE and CEPEO families, CAG has a PA Day Camp on April 25th and it's going to be a blast at Brantwood Park Fieldhouse!


Join us for exciting activities, games and fun crafts, this PA Day's theme is: Spring Time; Fun Time!


Time: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (Extended Care available until 5:30pm)

Location: Brantwood Park Fieldhouse (39 Onslow Crescent)

Pricing: $55.00/day/child

Extended Care: $12.50/child

A limited number of Extended-Care spots will be available depending on the date of the PA Day Camp. Extended Care will be offered from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and children may be with our regular After-School program where required.

CAG's Spring Soccer in the Park

Join us this spring at Brantwood Park for an exciting season of soccer, fresh air, and friends!


Dates: Saturdays, May 10 - June 28, 2025 (8 weeks)

Pricing: $55.00

Ages 3 - 4: 9:30am - 10:15am

Ages 5 - 6: 10:30am - 11:30am


This program is perfect for young soccer enthusiasts to learn basic soccer skills, teamwork and sportsmanship in a fun and supportive environment!

Each week starts with a fun warm-up with our enthusiastic instructors, moves on to some age appropriate drills, and finishes with a fun scrimmage game.

Seniors Social

There's just over 2 weeks left until CAG's first Seniors Social on Friday May 2!


Join us at Brantwood Park Fieldhouse from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for an afternoon of classic card games, puzzles and more! Oh, and of course, some friendly competition! No registration required.

Hatha Flow Yoga


Day/Time: Saturdays, 9:00am - 10:00am

Dates: April 5 - June 21, 2025 (12 weeks)

Location: Old Town Hall (Upstairs) & Online

Price: $132.00 (+ GST) - 12 classes (Prorated for late registration)


Great for busy minds! Hatha Flow Yoga is based on the principles of hatha with a strong focus on fluid movement that links breath with postures.


Expect a well-balanced class beginning with a gentle warm-up, followed by a series of energizing movements, ending the class with a relaxing wind-down. Come to class and leave feeling a little lighter!

Earth Day is next Tuesday April 22, 2025, but the celebrations will continue in the coming weeks and months! Take our poll to let us know how you're planning to participate this year.

Ottawa Centre Candidates Debate - Tonight!

The Ottawa Centre Federal election debate is taking place tonight (April 15) at Knox Presbyterian Church (120 Lisgar Street).


Doors open at 6:30pm and the debate starts at 7:00pm. Parking is available at City Hall parkade for $2.00, free street parking is available after 5:30pm and the venue is wheelchair-accessible.


The debate will be moderated by David Reevely, author and reporter with The Logic. It will be recorded by Rogers TV, with the video made available online following the event.

City Nature Challenge

The City Nature Challenge is an international effort for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities around the globe. From April 25 to April 28, 2025, take photos or record sounds of wild animals and plants and submit them to the iNaturalist app or website to join the challenge!

Transportation Master Plan - Phase 5 Consultation

The Transportation Master Plan project team has launched the fifth and final phase of consultation on the TMP's Capital Infrastructure Plan.


A Highlights Report and several technical reports are available to read, and you can share your feedback through two separate surveys, which will both close May 12, 2025. Public consultation sessions will also be running in person and online until May 6, 2025.

Hazardous Waste Drop Off

The next Hazardous Waste Event is happening Sunday April 27 from 8:00am to 4:00pm at the Ottawa Stadium (300 Coventry Road). Take advantage of this opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste - no electronic waste will be accepted.

Carleton Poetic Society - Poetry Workshop

Join the Carleton Poetic Society on the last Thursday of every month at the Sunnyside library for a series of themed creative writing workshops. These events are free and open to the public, all levels of poets/writers are welcome!
