Rivers West announces Volunteer Recognition Awards recipients

This month, the Rivers West District for Sport, Culture & Recreation announced the 2023 Award Recipients of the Rivers West District Volunteer Recognition Awards.


The winners include artist Dee Eaves in the Culture - Artist category, and the St. Walburg Allied Arts Council's “Best Party in 100 Years” event in the Culture - Event category. Celebration of their achievements will be highlighted on the Rivers West’s social media and website throughout the coming year.

The distance education arts program LIVE Arts is now accepting submissions for guest artists for the 2023/2024 season broadcasts. Emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply.

OUTSaskatoon hires Interim Executive Director/Organizational Consultant

On April 17, the OUTSaskatoon Board of Directors announced the hiring of Rose Gilks, as an Interim Executive Director/Organizational Consultant, who will support the organization in its work to establish a healthy governance and operational base. Gilks worked in the non-profit sector for over 40 years prior to retiring from the position of CEO of SaskCulture in 2020. She will work to stabilize and build a stronger organizational structure for OUTSaskatoon, as well as mentor a long-term Executive Director from the queer community to lead OUT Saskatoon into the future.
