Hello Steve, Enjoy our Saints News!

HEAD OF SCHOOL MUSING

Drum Roll, Please! Our 25th anniversary celebration – 1998 ReMix – has raised $351,500 to date, including in-kind contributions. That’s a VCHS event record! Thank you to the many people who helped make this happen, especially our sponsors.

The new initiatives we raised money to support were decided in the fall and chosen because of the higher level of excellence they would catalyze for our students, teachers, and school. Priorities were established through the lens of Imagine God’s Masterpiece – VCHS Strategic Plan 2030 (Page 3).

So how will we steward and deploy the funds for high impact? Let me break it down into three categories. First, we will enhance our school campus with a:

  • Student Space on the upper level of the West Building supporting entrepreneurship, college admissions, and academic collaboration
  • Counseling Center providing mental health resources to our students and families
  • Rooftop Solar Panels fostering student learning, as well as financial and environmental sustainability

Second, to support academic excellence and athletics/fine arts distinction, we will purchase one more school passenger van for transporting our students to and from events. With thanks to Vail Resorts/Epic Promise, one passenger van was already donated.

Third, to support our efforts with recruit, retain, and grow top faculty, we have established our first ever Teacher Affordable Housing Fund – a kickstarter demonstrating how serious we are about supporting teachers. And to further show appreciation for our amazing teachers today, we allocated year-end ‘thank-you’ bonuses.

As you can see, there’s much we want to accomplish within this budget. If you’ve not yet participated in supporting our 25th Anniversary through 1998 ReMix, it’s not too late. Every additional dollar raised will further enhance the initiatives mentioned above. If that’s you, what can you do? Give online or send in a check noting 1998 ReMix, or learn more about ways to give to VCHS from our website.

Thank you again to the VCHS family for helping us celebrate twenty-five years of God’s faithfulness and for giving so generously to support this year’s students and teachers as well as future Saints and teachers who will one day call VCHS their home.

"The future is bright for tennis in Vail!! I'm so proud of all of our players and coaches. We've had 5 state Champions last year and the momentum continues to build! Special shout out to Homestead Court club for hosting and Eric Meyer Head Tennis Pro - Let's go Saints! "

-JD Webster, Head Coach

"Our girls played truly inspiring tennis this weekend. Our five leaders who returned from last year's team (Jessie, Juliet, Summer, Heidi, and Sofia) showed tremendous focus, leadership, and determination. Our six new players - including 4 freshmen - (Alexa, Sabrina, Carys, Olivia, Linnea, and Grace), stepped up beyond expectations. They played with great courage and a desire to prove they belong on a championship caliber team."

-Eric Meyer, Homestead Court club Tennis Pro

"These freshman have come to play. It's so fun to see these girls come together as a team. They get better and better every match. I'm blown away! "

- Kirsten Webster, Assistant Coach

"The team has been working really hard the past few weeks, and it was great to see it pay off! We faced some really great opponents and had to step up our game to pull out the win. "

- Juliet Studness, Team Captain | 2 Singles
