Help Us Help Others!

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1-2)

New Name, Same Game!

“Looks good,” you say, “but what happened to Winner$ for Dinners, A Race Against Hunger?” It just has a new name, that's all! The new Amazing Race Against Hunger is still the same action-packed adventure, sure to challenge your brain as you feverishly work to solve clues, and elicit plenty of laughter as you complete the many, oftentimes hilarious, missions. In short, if you’re a past participant who’s been looking forward to a repeat of the great fundraiser held the past two years, you’re sure to enjoy this year’s event every bit as much.  And those of you who will be racing for the first time? You're gonna love it!

Attendees at the post-race party will still have a chance to see entertaining, frequently very funny, pictures and videos of the exciting race, participate in an amazing silent auction and other creative fundraising activities, and enjoy an over-the-top cookie table and enough hearty hors-d’oeuvres to rival a plated dinner. On top of all that, the event will be hosted once again by WPXI news anchor Lisa Sylvester, who not only graciously and masterfully emceed last year’s gathering, but was so inspired by what we do that she and her two children now regularly volunteer at our Sunday dinners.

Most importantly, whether you’re a participant or sponsor, you will be making a difference in the lives of people who are hungry and hurting. If you’re a supporter outside the Pittsburgh area, we would love to welcome you to our beautiful city for a mini vacation, highlighted by time spent meeting some of the wonderful people who make our ministry possible, while enjoying a special evening out. If you can’t join us, we would appreciate your prayers, both for the fundraiser and, as always, for the ongoing Living Stones ministry and the people we serve.

If you live in the Pittsburgh area, we ask that you spread the word, join the fun, and invite others who desire to share a portion of all they have been given to help their less fortunate neighbors. We are firmly convinced that those who give are as blessed as those who receive. May you be blessed to be a blessing … and have fun doing it!

Annual Fundraiser is fast approaching!

Don’t miss this action-packed adventure past racers are raving about! Laugh and challenge your brain as you solve clues, complete hilarious missions, and snap pictures and videos as you feverishly – and safely – attempt to land in the winners’ circle! Prizes of $500, $250, and $100 await the three vehicles with the most points and will be presented during the post-race party, to which all participants are invited. Click here to sponsor or participate!

Living Stones fosters the cultivation of relationships with neighbors who join us for meals. As relationships develop and deepen, Living Stones volunteers come alongside those individuals and families to assist them in navigating the challenges in their lives and encourage them to find hope in Christ as they learn to trust Him.
