Summer Programs @ Your Library

We're excited to offer a great selection of programs for all ages this summer. We have weekly kids' programs, monthly kids' movie double features, and at least one big event for adults happening each month this summer. Read on for the highlights or visit our website for a complete calendar of events.

Thank you to everyone who responded to our Friends' membership drive already! We're almost halfway to our goal of 200 members. A donation to the Friends in any amount makes you a member, and you can make a membership contribution on our website or in person at the library. It's thanks to our Friends members that we're able to offer all of these great summer programs, and we're so grateful for your support.

Happy summer!

All ages, kids to adult, can join our 2023 Summer Reading Challenge. Reach your reading goals and you will be entered to win some fabulous prizes! You can track your reading using a paper reading log or by using the Beanstack app. Check out our Summer 2023 website for more details.

We also have weekly programs and activities schedule for kids, monthly movie double features, and more. Here's the schedule for June:

Summer Programs for adults

Why should kids have all the fun? We are planning several interesting events for adults this summer, too! June will bring quite a few opportunities for everyone, including:

A Midsummer Tea with the Friends

Our Midsummer Tea with the Friends of the Library is sold out, but there's still time to support the event. Stop by this week to see the seven tea-themed raffle baskets we have on display. Tickets are available for $2 each or 6 for $10, and you do not have to be present at the event to win.

Ongoing Events at the Library

We have so many things going on this month that I can't share all the details in this newsletter. Check out this brief list, and click the links to visit our website for more info.

  • Tech classes: Bug Tussel University is hosting monthly tech classes on Saturday mornings. On June 17 they'll be talking about Internet Safety.
  • Chess Club: Anyone from beginner to expert, child to senior, is welcome at chess club! Drop in for a game or stay all afternoon. We will have a few sets available for play, or you are welcome to bring your own. Chess Club dates this month are Tuesday afternoons, June 13 and June 27.
  • Knitting Group: Enjoy the company of your fellow knitters at our informal Knitting Group on Tuesdays at 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to bring a work in progress, show off a completed project, or just visit with other knitters. Crochet and other fiber crafts are welcome, too.
  • Craft Kits: We plan to release new take-and-make craft kits on the second and fourth Fridays of the month all summer. Starting Friday, June 9, anyone can pick up a kit to make their own dragons!
