School resumes August 15 and our hours will change again.

Please watch our Facebook page for announcements about school supply distribution.

Second Annual Scholarships Awarded

SCAC Executive Director Wendy Grothjan presented two scholarships to members of the Class of 2023.

Ayleen Duenas and Alexandra Ansell each received $1,000 for one year.

Criteria for the scholarship include a GPA of at least 2.75 and volunteer service at the SCAC. This year, both recipients were regular SCAC volunteers.

“We received a number of strong applications and are excited to see this program grow,” Grothjan said. “Congratulations to all the members of the class of 2023.”

Duenas plans to study at the University of Cincinnati. Ansell will attend Wright State University majoring in mathematics.

Churches Provide Monthly, Holiday Support

Springboro churches continue to provide monthly food drives to keep the SCAC's pantry stocked. Additional support is provided during holiday events.

This year, Covenant Presbyterian Church provided delicious Easter treats for our neighbors. Food drives were held in March at Fairhaven Church, in April at The Point and in May at Jubilee Church.

These food drives are also often accompanied by generous cash donations. In June, Covenant Presbyterian will host a food drive and Springboro United Church of Christ will host one in July.

Thank you to the Springboro Pastors Association and your congregations for your continued support!

Schools Support for SCAC Continues

Springboro Schools have always been supportive of the SCAC. As they wrapped up their year, the Student Council at Dennis Elementary School hosted a very successful food drive. Thanks to counselor Liz Wenzel for organizing the effort.

Additionally, the SCAC received $500 from the Springboro High School chapter of S.A.D.D.: Students Against Drunk Driving.

Thank you all for your support!

Register Your Grocery Cards

You can help SCAC keep the food flowing in many different ways. If you shop at Kroger or Dorothy Lane Market, register your rewards cards so their Community Rewards and Good Neighbor Programs benefit SCAC.

These donations DO make a difference. Between May 1 and July 31, more than $700 made its way to SCAC thanks to 121 households who shop at Kroger with registered cards.

Go online to www.kroger.com or www.dorothylane.com or visit customer service. A percentage of your total will be donated to SCAC every time you shop.

PayPal Allows Recurring Donations
Did you know: SCAC accepts donations via PayPal. Want to give regularly? Set up a recurring donation!

If you give from a bank account instead of a credit card, there are no fees! (We pay the fees which reduces your donation.) And it's secure!

Thanks to everyone who has already donated through PayPal and who set up recurring donations! We appreciate you!

If you prefer to send a check, you can mail it to Springboro Community Assistance Center, P.O. Box 1042, Springboro, Ohio 45066, or stop by with your donation during our distribution hours on Mondays between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
