Spring has finally arrived in Pike County, and we have a lot to share in this new season of growth and renewal!

Barbara J. Buchanan Grant Recipients

Greater Pike’s Barbara J. Buchanan Fund is pleased to announce a total of $1,700 in grants to help support the work of the following four nonprofit organizations:

·        Pike Autism Support Services of Northeast Pennsylvania

·        Grey Towers Heritage Association

·        Pike County Public Library

·        Pike County Historical Society

“The members of our Grants Committee were impressed by the many strong funding requests we received for this grant. We feel these four projects will have a wonderful impact on our community and represent causes and organizations that were near and dear to Mrs. Buchanan’s heart,” said Carol Witschel, Greater Pike’s Grants Chair.

Nonprofit Workshop: April 11

Greater Pike’s annual nonprofit workshop is coming up on April 11. Representatives from attending nonprofits will have an opportunity to speak about their organization’s programs and activities, learn about upcoming events and grant opportunities at Greater Pike, and ask questions about funding and other topics.

This workshop is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about your nonprofit, learn what other local organizations are working on, and gain a better understanding of how Pike County nonprofits can work together to benefit our community.

The event will begin with a light breakfast at 9:00am and the program will run from 9:30am to noon.

The event is free but space is very limited, and preference will be given to nonprofit organizations that service Pike County.

Mary also offered consulting services to foundations as large as the Ford Foundation and as small as rural community foundations that supported this community work through targeted grant making and community engagement.
