We want to extend a huge congratulations to all our winter student-athletes on remarkable seasons. This year, several teams made their deepest postseason runs in program history, and there was no shortage of hardware brought back to Tahoma. We’re already excited to see our returning competitors build on their success next year!
Meet our new Director of Elementary Teaching & Learning!
This week, the Tahoma School Board approved the hiring of Dr. Gretchen Schlag as the District's new Director of Elementary Teaching & Learning (T&L), effective July 1, 2023.

“Elementary teaching is where my career started, and it’s where my passion lies. Students start their journey to being college, career and life ready at elementary school, and I want to help give all our students a chance to be successful from their first day.”
Happy Education Support Professionals Week!
This week is Education Support Professionals Week! We want to recognize our over 550 classified teammates, across 8 classifications, who all play a necessary role in making our students feel safe, cared for, challenged and supported in our schools. There was a classified appreciation dinner on Wednesday night this week, where district leaders, Maple Valley’s City Council and other friends of Public School Employees (PSE) of Tahoma celebrated our education support personnel. Seen here are also two amazing support staff, TES Nutrition Services Cashier Marissa Pierce, and 29-year veteran bus driver Pam Teller.
Mark your calendar for this year’s Culture Fair, happening at Tahoma High School on March 21. There will be culture booths, community displays and student displays, as well as children’s story time, dancing and other activities. Food trucks will be at the Culture Fair starting at 5:30 p.m., and the festivities will begin at 6 p.m. We hope to see you there!
