Stedman Families,
One week to go!
We are looking forward to celebrating all of our continuating students next week in addition to our entire community who has put in so much love, effort, and time into making this a great year.
Our office still has a few field day t-shirts that were ordered and paid for by community members - please be sure to pick these up as soon as possible or they will be donated. (And don't forget to stop by Lost & Found soon, if you're missing something, it's likely in there!)
A reminder to families who utilize Boys & Girls Club, please be aware that there will be NO programming the next week (May 29-June 2). Their summer programming will begin the following week.
For those that submitted an agreement to check out a Chromebook over the summer, teachers will receive a list with your child's name on it to receive a new computer for the summer. These will be distributed next week and will have access to Clever and educational apps by using a student's school ID log in information as usual.
Memorial Day is a time to honor those who have given their lives while serving in the US military. We know many of your own family and loved ones will be remembered and honored this weekend, and we thank them for their service. Did you know that the holiday was originally established to honor and remember Union Soldiers who died in the Civil War? In fact, many believe that one of the first recorded tributes was held by recently emancipated Black people in 1865. Learn more about some oft-overlooked origins of the holiday in this article.
We will see everyone back here on Tuesday, May 30th. Please remember that our final day of school is Friday, June 2nd, and students will be dismissed at 1pm. I'm grateful that you are a part of our community.

Esperamos celebrar a todos nuestros estudiantes que continúan la próxima semana, además de toda nuestra comunidad que ha puesto tanto amor, esfuerzo y tiempo para hacer de este un gran año.
Nuestra oficina todavía tiene algunas camisetas para el día de campo que fueron ordenadas y pagadas por miembros de la comunidad; asegúrese de recogerlas lo antes posible o serán donadas. (Y no te olvides de pasar pronto por Lost & Found, si te estás perdiendo algo, ¡es probable que esté allí!)

Shout out to all the Stedman folks who ran in the Colfax Marathon events this weekend! That includes Girls on the Run and all the events on Sunday (Relay, Half, 10 Miler, etc.) - everyone did an awesome job. If you participated, congratulations!
