As we approach the joyous occasion of Independence Day, I want to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this historic day and express my appreciation for the liberties and freedoms we enjoy as citizens of this great nation. On the 4th of July we commemorate the bravery, vision and unwavering determination of our founders, who forged a path towards independence and self-governance. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless individuals throughout history that laid the foundation for our nation and fought to preserve it ever since. July 4th is a celebration of the values and principles that continue to guide us today. 

Let us come together with our loved ones, friends and neighbors to appreciate the blessings of liberty, foster unity and express our gratitude for the land we call home. Wishing you a memorable and patriotic Independence Day!

RNC Community Center Election Kickoff!

July 7th in Edinburg, TX

I am excited to be joining some amazing patriots next week in the Rio Grande Valley to celebrate the 2024 Election Kickoff at the Victory Center in Edinburg, Texas. Republicans have made incredible inroads in the valley. Starting with President Trump's campaign in 202o and carrying right through 2022, the Republican surge in South Texas was national news. But while the pundits may have been shocked it certainly wasn't news to those of us who have been working in these communities for decades. Hispanics and Latinos have been some of the most conservative and patriotic Americans in our state. Border communities are on the front line of the fight to secure our borders. Engagement from our candidates and grassroots activism finally began to break through the Democrat machines that had a grip on these areas for far too long. And we are committed to keeping the momentum going and building on these hard earned gains. The victory center that I will be at next is just one example of the commitment that Republicans are investing in South Texas. I hope you will join us if you are able to kickoff what will be another historic election in the Rio Grande Valley. 

A Breakdown At The Border

Joe Biden's order crisis is only getting worse by the day. New data shows it's not slowing down anytime soon. 

What you need to know:

• New Customs and Border Protection data released shows 204,561 illegal immigrants  were apprehended attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in May.
• This is the second highest total for May in 22 years. 
• With more than 6,500 crossings daily, Biden's border crisis is overwhelming the system. 
• This is the first time in history that monthly apprehensions at the southern border have surpassed 150,000 for 27 consecutive months. 
• May's 200,000-plus encounters is a 337% increase from the average number of May apprehensions from 2017-2020.
• 9,943 unaccompanied children were apprehended.
• 108,234 illegal immigrants were apprehended from countries outside the Northern Triangle and Mexico, showing that Biden’s crisis is global.
• At least 125 people on the terror watchlist have been apprehended trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry so far this fiscal year, a new record.
• More than 6.9 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Biden took office. 
• This includes the 1.4 million gotaways have escaped past Border Patrol into the U.S.
• Border officials say that the official number of gotaways vastly undercounts the illegal immigrants who make it into the U.S.
• Homeland Security Investigations estimates that Mexican cartels are now making $13 billion a year smuggling illegal immigrants into the U.S.
• Illicit drugs are flowing into the country at an alarming rate with only 5 to 10% being intercepted as border officials struggle to contain the smuggling. 
• 2,626 pounds of deadly fentanyl was seized at the southern border in May alone, with much more getting through.
• The amount of fentanyl seized in May is the equivalent of more than 595 million lethal doses. 
• With the end of Title 42, the Biden administration clearly has been unprepared for a surge in illegal immigration.

The bottom line:

This is the worst border crisis on record and it is only going to continue to get worse with Biden and Democrats disastrous open border policies and lack of leadership. Republican leaders in Congress will continue to hold Biden and the Democrats accountable for the humanitarian crisis they created.
