School Announcements

  • Virtual Parent Teacher Conference: Parent Teacher conferences will take place on Thursday, March 7th. Teachers will be reaching out to parents with a time to meet.
  • P.S.36 Attendance Raffle: We will be hosting a raffle for perfect attendance and most improved attendance students. Please join us virtually on Friday, March 15th at 9 a.m.
  • Summer Rising Program: Summer Rising Applications opened on Monday, March, 4th. Students were given Summer Rising letters with account access codes. Please view the flyer below for more details.
  • Parent Workshop: We will be hosting a Family Connection Circles parent workshop on Wednesday, March 27th at 8:45 a.m.
  • Easter Weekend: Schools will be closed from Friday, March 29th to Monday, April 1st. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 2nd.
  • 2024 School Survey: The survey will be open this year from Monday, February 12th to Friday, April 5th .
  • DOE School Calendar: You can find the new school calendar for the school year of 2023 to 2024 HERE
  • NYC Schools Account: It’s important that your school is able to reach you to share crucial information quickly, including alerts about confirmed COVID-19 cases in your child’s school. Please sign up for a NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) so we can contact you via phone, email, or text message. STEPS ARE HERE

District 5 Spelling Bee

Janelle Perkins represented P.S.36 in the District 5 Spelling Bee. Congratulations to Janelle for winning 3rd place!

Rosie's Theater Kids

P.S.36 fifth-grade students performed for fourth-grade students and parents at Teacher's College.

Respect For All Week

Students participated in activities that promoted actions of kindness and respect.

Jumpathon

Students participated in jumping activities and learned about the importance of physical activity.

Paint Night

Perfect attendance and most improved attendance students were invited to paint night with their families.

Arrival and Dismissal Updates
  • Breakfast will be served for all students in the cafeteria at 8:00 AM.
  • 3K – PK students will be escorted and picked up by their parent at the Unit 1 veranda.
  • Kindergarten and First Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the Unit 1 veranda.
  • Second and Third Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the Unit 3 veranda.
  • Fourth and Fifth Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the main lobby, Exit 2 veranda.

Student Support
School Based Mental Health Services

School Based Mental Health Services offers students a space to talk about their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment and helps them develop healthy coping-skills. We offer individual counseling services, family therapy, and group counseling for students. 

 

If you believe your child can benefit from developing healthy coping skills or if you notice your child is experiencing changes in their eating or sleeping habits, behavioral issues, extreme feelings of sadness or worry, or has experienced any type of traumatic event, please reach out to Ingrid Cabrera at  Ingrid.Cabrera@nyfoundling.org, and fill out a consultation form below.
