Module Description:

This 45-minute module is the first of the Sexual Health Course One: Communicating with Patients course. This interactive e-learning module will introduce implicit bias, address stigma within patient-provider encounters, and identify ways for providers to provide patient-centered care, free from stigma and bias.

Learning Objectives
  • Define implicit bias and intersectional stigma
  • Identify how implicit bias can propagate stigma within patient-provider encounters
  • Analyze a case presentation to determine the presence of implicit bias or stigma within the patient-provider encounter

Target Audience
This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, and other providers who are engaged in the care of sexual health of patients.
