Mayor Walker Elected As President of Georgia Municipal Association

City of Perry Mayor Randall Walker was elected as the President of the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) at their annual conference in Savannah, Georgia in June.

The GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefits, and consulting services to Georgia’s 537 cities.

During the next year, Mayor Walker will serve as an advocate for GMA’s interests on state and federal levels. He previously served on GMA’s Legislative Policy Council and the Federal Policy Council.

“Fourteen years ago, I felt the call to serve my community and ran for election to the Perry City Council. Little did I know then how deeply involved I would become with GMA and how it would shape my life as a public servant. Thank you for trusting me to lead this organization,” Mayor Walker commented.

Tips From the Fire Department

Fireworks are a fun and exciting way to celebrate holidays like Independence Day, however, it is essential to recognize that fireworks come with risks.

In order to ensure the safety of both individuals and property, it is strongly recommended that fireworks be left in the capable hands of professionals who adhere to strict safety guidelines.

Keep these tips in mind as you and your family enjoy summer vacations, camping, family reunions, and more!
