Nevins News

Greetings!

November has arrived and with it we start to hunker down for those colder winter days.  This November also marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.  Where were you when it happened or where were your parents or grandparents.  A good excuse to discuss some history around the table.  We have Mike Lowe, a Kennedy expert coming to  discuss the life and times of JFK.  Mike is an accomplished speaker who specializes in the speeches and life of JFK.

We are also reaching the conclusion of our Civil War Series, This month we will be focusing on the music of the period with two seperate perfomances, one Sunday November 10 and the other Thursday November 21.  December will bring one last celebration of a Civil War Christmas so look for that next month

Hope you can stop by to take advantage of all these exciting  programs and events.

 Best Wishes,

 Nevins Memorial Staff

JFK Remembered by Mike Lowe, an expert on JFK, his Family and Career
Wednesday, November 13  - 7pm

Many of us cannot believe that it has been fifty years this month since President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.  To commemorate this important event the Library is hosting Mike Lowe, and the JFK Experience. John Kennedy inspired millions with his rhetorical prowess. His unmistakable accent and cadence were complimented by powerful words and imagery, all written by Ted Sorensen. However, Kennedy's words were re-enforced by his extensive travel, love of history and belief in the freedom of man. The  JFK Experience attempts to bring all of these aspects of Kennedy's life to a modern audience. John Kennedy was a dynamic and charismatic historic figure. Mr. Lowe will do a presentation and also answer any questions that you may have. For more information or to reserve a seat for this free program, You many call the Reference desk to register for this program or click on the link below to register online.
