From the Desk of Mr. Marty Van Hulle, Principal
SAL Parents:
Yesterday, we kicked off Catholic Schools Week with our annual Open House. Thanks to the collective efforts of many, the facilities looked great and the vibe in the building was positive and welcoming. Additionally, our students did a great job of welcoming, reading, cantering, serving, and singing at the 9:00 mass. All-in-all, the events of the day were a great representation of the good things, and the good people, that make up St. Anthony on the Lake School. Thank you to all involved! The week ahead provides us with a great opportunity to celebrate our faith and give thanks for all we have. Happy Catholic Schools Week!!
Take care and God bless,
M. Van Hulle
Principal, SAL

MAP Testing Results Update
Our K5-8th grade students just completed their Winter MAP Testing. We use the data derived from this standardized test to track individual student growth and school-wide progress, as well as make instructional decisions to support our students’ needs. We are blessed to have a team of teachers, aides, and Resource Specialists who can provide on-level and remedial instruction, as well as enrichment to ensure we are meeting all students’ needs and helping their academic achievement.
Our recent Winter MAP Test data indicates that St. Anthony on the Lake students performed at the 78th percentile for Reading achievement and at the 72nd percentile for Math achievement. This is well above the national average which comes in at the 50th percentile. St. Anthony staff and students truly are Called, Gifted, and Sent!
We will send home MAP test results later this week.

Student Government - Ronald McDonald House Opportunity
St. Anthony on the Lake School will begin collecting pop tabs from the tops of aluminum cans and donating them to Ronald McDonald House. Pop tabs can come from more than just soda cans, including food cans and even canned pet food! Ronald McDonald House will exchange these tabs for funds to be donated to directly support the children and families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities® Eastern Wisconsin. Since 2000, recycling the little aluminum tabs from soda cans has generated over $400,000 for our Ronald McDonald House®.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Wish List
For our January outreach opportunity, the students at St. Anthony on the Lake School want to help children in Eastern Wisconsin who are battling cancer and other diseases by collecting items for Ronald McDonald House Charities. At a Ronald McDonald House, “families can stay together, rest and recharge to remain strong for their child, interact with families going through similar experiences, enjoy home-cooked meals and receive compassionate hospitality from staff and volunteers — all just minutes from the hospital where their child is receiving care.” This organization is requesting items in several categories: household items and office supplies, food, toys and books, gift cards, auction fundraising items, and “Big Shoes” items. Use the link to the Wish List flyer to see the specific items that are requested. The items in blue indicate their greatest need. Donated items can be brought to school and placed on the display in the kindergarten lobby. Gift card donations should be sent to the office in an envelope labeled “RMHC Collection.” We will collect items from Friday, January 24 – Friday, February 7, 2025. Thank you to those families who participate!

Greeters at Sunday Mass
Would your family like to greeters on Sunday Mornings at Church? Greeters play an important part in welcoming parishioners and visitors to Mass each week. Greeters have several important duties before Mass begins. They welcome people into the building, show them where to hang coats, where to find the restrooms and where the childcare room is. How does your family become Greeters? You will need to contact the Music and Liturgy Office and have your family’s name added to the Greeters Participation Group of MySAL. Once your name is in the Participation Group you can go in at anytime and sign up for the date and Mass time you wish. If you have any questions, contact Vincent LaTona in the Prayer and Worship Office at 262 691-1173 ex. 1109 or by email at latonav@stanthony.cc.

Scrip
Scrip is one of the easiest ways to raise money for St. Anthony on the Lake AND is a key part of our fundraising activities. (See this great instructional video for information on Scrip and how to get started with your orders.) Money raised from SCRIP has been used to help support the purchase of curricular resources, for tuition assistance, and classroom supplies.
So how does SCRIP work? You buy either a physical gift card or e-gift card at face value. For each purchase, both you and St. Anthony earns money back. Earnings vary based on the rebate percentage offered by that merchant but range from 1.25% to 22%. Of the rebate earned, 50% goes back to the school and the other 50% is distributed at your discretion to one of the following:
· Credited to your family’s (or another family’s) tuition in the following academic year
· Donated to St. Anthony’s on the Lake School
· Donated to St. Anthony’s on the Lake Choir
· Paid to you as a cash rebate (2024-2025 rebate will be paid in July 2025)
Last year, some individuals earned over $300 in tuition credits and received over $400 in cash rebates!
The easiest way to purchase SCRIP is via the RaiseRight App. The RaiseRight App offers instant e-gift cards from over 1000+ merchants. You can purchase e-giftcards oftentimes in $5 increments while checking out at a store and use it instantly. For a list of merchants available through the app, visit https://www.raiseright.com/brands.
You may also purchase physical gift cards either through the app or using the Scrip To Go Order Form. The gift cards can be sent home with your child at school or picked up in the office.
