I'm Thankful For YOU!

Hello Knightdale! Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I wanted to take a moment to let you know how thankful I am to you for being an engaged citizen. It pushes me to do and be all I can to make sure we both contribute to making Knightdale the best town in Wake County!

I'm so excited about the many positive things going on around town, and I wanted to share just a few things going on with our citizens and community.

The Town Honors Knightdale Veterans

Knightdale honored its veterans at a Veterans Tribute on Sunday, November 13, at the Veterans Memorial at Knightdale Station Park.

A host of community members and organizations came out to support, including Scout Pack 365, Kathy Wall, who sang several selections, and our keynote speaker, Lt. Col. Robert G. Larson, of the United States Marine Corps (Ret).

Thank you to the Two Green Thumbs Garden Club for hosting and presenting a wonderful event, and everyone who attended. We as a town will always remember those who fought for the precious freedoms we enjoy because of their service.

Knightdale Welcomes MSI Surfaces

I was fortunate to attend the grand opening of the new MSI Surfaces business here in Knightdale in October!

MSI is the leading nationwide distributor of flooring, countertop, wall tile and hardscaping products in North America. Their goal as an organization is to contribute to a world where anyone can afford to create a beautiful space to live, work, and play.

We are grateful to add another thriving business to our community. Welcome, MSI!

Mayor Day Speaks to Women Leaders in Wake County

It was such a privilege to speak to the Women of Wake (WOW) Business Networking group at the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce. The WOW Business group seeks to encourage, educate, assist, and develop relationships with other women business entrepreneurs in the Wake area. I was excited to speak to them and get to know more about the great leaders we have throughout Wake County.

Thank you to Cynthia Wrapp, President of WOW Business Networking Group, for having me at their meeting. Thanks also to Dr. Cherese Bratcher, Chiropractic Physician at The Joint Chiropractic, for inviting me to speak.

Activating Good in Knightdale

I recently got an opportunity to engage with community members at the Community Partners Meet & Greet for Activate Good. The event was designed to connect interested individuals with volunteer and local non-profit opportunities in their community.

There’s so much good going on in Knightdale and Wake County, and there are so many people who want to get involved! Activate Good is the nexus to bring the two together, and I cannot wait to see the great things that will come as a result of this gathering.

Thank you to the A.J. Fletcher Foundation for sponsoring this wonderful event!

Knightdale's First Community Mural Is Complete!

Harper Park now hosts Knightdale’s first community mural! The “Harper Park Adventures” mural was created by artist Sarahlaine Calva, in partnership with Wake County and the United Arts Council. The artwork embodies Knightdale’s commitment to the values of inclusivity and connectedness throughout our town.

Our local officials were joined by Senator Dan Blue, Rep. James Roberson, Commissioners Sig Hutchinson and Shinica Thomas, and United Arts Council coordinators Jenn McEwan and Kelly Schrader. If you haven’t yet, please take some time to see and enjoy the mural at Harper Park!

A Dedication for a Dedicated Public Servant!

Knightdale Parks, Recreation and Cultural Programs dedicated our new pickleball courts to an amazing community member, Representative James Roberson.

Representative Roberson helped with the revitalization of Harper Park during his tenure as Mayor of Knightdale, and his support has continued since. It was his original vision to improve the park and include the new pickleball courts. What an honor it is to have these recreation facilities bear his name and maintain the legacy of his leadership in our town.

Thank you, Representative Roberson, and congratulations!

Upcoming Events

I hope you can join me at the following Town events!

Turkey Leg 5K Race

Before you run to the table for turkey, join the Town at Knightdale Station Park for the Turkey Leg 5K on Saturday, November 19, at 8 am! Runners or walkers are welcome. Dogs are allowed but must remain on a leash and under the owner's control (and all waste must be picked up).

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about anything going on in our amazing town of Knightdale!
