Local Events: Tentative list of Rock Hall's festivities for the year

The Town of Rock Hall has several events set to take place this spring, summer and fall. Although a tentative list that is subject to change, what follows below is an outline of our community's headlining public gatherings for the year.

Spring Triathlon – Saturday and Sunday, June 3-4. Kinetic Multisports is putting on the annual Olympic and Sprint Triathlons based at Rock Hall Harbor. The USA Triathlon-sanctioned event draws thousands to the area. For more information or to register, visit kineticmultisports.com.

Waterman's Day – Sunday, July 2 at 12:00 noon. Fun for the whole family, sponsored by the Kent County Waterman's Association. Activities include boat docking, anchor toss and dinghy race competitions, all happening at Rock Hall's Public Bulkhead.

Fourth of July Fireworks – Monday, July 3 at dusk. Fourth of July Parade – Tuesday, July 4 at 10:00 a.m. For more information on Rock Hall's Independence Day events, visit rockhallmd.com.

Pirates & Wenches Weekend – Friday-Sunday, August 11-13. Presented by Main Street Rock Hall. Schedule of events, performers and activities forthcoming. For updates, visit rockhallpirates.com.

Fall Triathlon (Grand National) – Saturday and Sunday, September 30-October 1. Like its spring counterpart, the Rock Hall Fall Waterman's Long, Olympic and Sprint Triathlons are national events. Learn more at kineticmultisports.com.

FallFest – Saturday, October 14. FallFest attracts thousands of visitors from across the Eastern Seaboard, showcasing and celebrating our town's rich history and maritime heritage. Details for this year's fest have yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned at rockhallfallfest.org.

Food Trucks: At Admirals Club, Passages this month

Haven Harbour South's Admirals Club Beachside Bar will be hosting food trucks tonight and tomorrow, as well as on May 19-20. Haven Harbour Marina's Passages Bar & Grill will be hosting a food truck on May 12-13. Admirals Club and Passages will be serving drinks and alcoholic beverages from 4:00-9:00 p.m. and 2:00-9:00 p.m. on said Fridays and Saturdays, respectively.

On the Radar: Rock Hall Shuttle

Rock Hall Shuttle service is returning, and both Haven Harbour Marina and Haven Harbour South are once again stops on the route. In-town Rock Hall day passes are $10.00 per rider. Service resumes Friday, May 26 and continues until Saturday, Oct. 8.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Rock Hall Garden Club Annual Plant Sale:

Saturday, May 13, lasting from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 noon at Rock Hall Village.

Museums of Kent County Driving Tour:

Nine museums will be open to the public for this year's Museum of Kent Country Driving Tour, Saturday May 20-Sunday, May 21. To start your tour, visit any participating museum, pick up a brochure and museums pass, and visit as many museums as possible. Get your pass stamped at each stop for a chance to win prizes. Vessel Safety Checks:

America’s Boating Club Valley Forge will be returning this year to perform vessel safety checks at Haven Harbour Marina. Slipholders who would like a safety check for June 3 are asked to contact Maryanne Boettjer at (610) 608-1892. If you who would prefer a June 10 appointment, please contact John Juzbasich at (610) 613-1693.

TRIVIA NIGHTS

Trivia Nights are Thursday evenings at Haven Harbour South from 6:00–8:00 p.m., with bar service, as well as food courtesy of Phat Daddy's BBQ food truck, from 5:30–9:00 p.m.
