Welcome Bishops!
While Bishop Russell is on sabbatical, now through July 2, we would like to invite your warm welcome to the three bishops who will be making Episcopal visitations to churches over the next several months: The Rt. Rev. George Young, III, the Rt. Rev. Ci Jones, and the Rt. Rev. Stephen Miller. Their presence will maintain Bishop Russell's commitment that each church in our diocese receives an annual visit. Meet Our Six New Deacons!
On Saturday, March 25, Bishop Russell ordained six ordinands to the Sacred Order of Deacons at Christ Church Cathedral in Mobile. Deacon Carolyn Foster of the Diocese of Alabama, preached on living into the ministry of being the bridge between the church and the world through their new roles as deacons. Worship in the Woods

Worship in the Woods is a diocesan-wide gathering hosted by the churches of Convocation IV. We will celebrate God's creation with a special Stations of the Resurrection, followed by Eucharist and fun fellowship.

Beckwith Sunday

Every year on the last Sunday of April we highlight and celebrate the mission and ministry of our diocesan camp and conference center, Beckwith. Racial Reconciliation Sacred Conversations

Sponsored by the Commission on Racial Justice and Reconciliation. We explore unconscious bias, prejudice, white privilege, and ways to work together to Become the Beloved Community. This offering is required for those in parish leader-ship (such as vestry members) and at the diocesan level (including those serving on commissions, committees, agencies, or boards). It also qualifies for eight hours of clergy training/education for those who complete the full-day course. There is no fee to participate, but it requires the commitment to be engaged for the full day. Limited to 30 participants.

Evangelism Brainstorm Sessions

Two session times are available: Noon and 6pm

The Director of Youth and Children’s Ministry works to combine discipleship, program, and fellowship while building a lasting connection with our children, youth, and families. The Director will use strategic leadership experience and vision to formulate sustainable ministries to raise up young people in their life with Christ. The primary goal is to guide youth and children spiritually as they grow in their faith and help them to connect to the wider church experience. Creating and cultivating a safe, fun, engaging space for relationships and formation is critical. St. James is committed to finding the right person for this role.

Registration is now open for “It’s All About Love,” a festival of worship, learning, community, and action for the Episcopal branch of the Jesus Movement, to be held July 9-12 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Register at https://allaboutlove.sched.com.
The festival kicks off at 6pm on Sunday, July 9, with a revival worship service featuring Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry. It closes at noon on Wednesday, July 12, with a festival Eucharist preached by Ms. Julia Ayala-Harris, President of the House of Deputies.
In between, “It’s All About Love” will focus on three Jesus Movement festival “tents” organized around Evangelism, Racial Reconciliation and Creation Care. Each tent will offer an evening revival worship service and mainstage speaker, plus dozens of day-time workshops, panels, practice opportunities, and other ways to engage.
