MESSAGE FROM HEADQUARTERS | | Amid a surging measles outbreak and one of the worst respiratory seasons in years, the need for trusted public health voices has never been greater. Now, more than ever, reliable, evidence-based information is essential to combat misinformation and empower individuals to make informed health decisions. In collaboration with partner organizations and public health stakeholders, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) remains committed to meeting this critical need. | |
| To help increase adult vaccination rates across the US, NFID recently released a series of shareable videos and graphics highlighting the importance of adult vaccines. I encourage you to share these resources to help raise awareness within your own networks. | | | One Thing We Can Agree On | | | Additionally, NFID launched the US Vaccine Uptake Dashboard, a pilot tool designed to provide hyperlocal insights to help public health leaders develop effective, community-specific vaccination campaigns. Developed in collaboration with the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM), the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), and Fraym, the NFID dashboard empowers stakeholders to allocate resources where they are most needed. Readers can learn more and request dashboard access at: www.nfid.org/us-vaccine-uptake-dashboard/. | | I am excited to share that later this spring, NFID will be launching a national campaign on the importance of handwashing to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Handwashing is a simple yet powerful way to stay healthy—if everyone routinely washed their hands, we could save 1 million lives worldwide each year, as an estimated 80% of infectious diseases are spread by dirty hands. Join the #HandsInForHandwashing movement to promote healthy handwashing practices! Campaign partners will receive exclusive email updates and early access to campaign materials. | |
The impact of our work is made possible through the unwavering support of our partners, donors, and stakeholders. Thank you for your dedication to protecting public health.
Best regards,
Marla Dalton, PE, CAE
