A Message From Chairwoman Of The Board

Abby Hauke

Dear GMAR Members,

It’s April and that means it’s Fair Housing Month! GMAR is hosting a one-hour Fair Housing Tune-Up on Thursday, April 10th at 10:00am via Zoom. Our special guest presenter is Alexia Smokler, an attorney and the staff executive to NAR’s Fair Housing Policy Committee. Alexia is a national leader in fair housing education and advocacy. She played a key role in developing Fairhaven: A Fair Housing Simulation and Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing, both part of NAR’s Fairhaven 2.0 initiative.

I’d like to encourage you to use the Equal Housing Opportunity logo in your advertising, website, etc. You can download it here, free. NAR also has various REALTOR® logo marks you can use on social media posts, ads, and copy for you to use, also free, just click here to access them.

Coming up next month, on May 7 we will host the Milwaukee Summit, part of WRA’s Wisconsin Summit Series. The Milwaukee event will feature market insights with Mark Eppli, Ph.D.; a report from UWM’s Dr. Kundan Kishor, about racial disparities and their impacts on housing prices; a panel of local elected leaders on housing development, affordability and economic growth; and lastly, a Legal and Legislative Update from Jennifer Lindsley, WRA Director of Legal Services and Licensing. I encourage all of you to join us there!

April also means that it’s election time. As you know, the GMAR and WRA were very active in this week’s elections. We would not be nearly as effective as we are without your support and contributions to RPAC. Thank you! We’re looking forward to seeing you at REALTOR® & Government Day on April 17, another important opportunity to advocate for our industry.

Happy Passover and Happy Easter to everyone!

Abby Hauke

2025 Chairwoman of the Board

Pink Ribbon Productions

Can you give us a brief introduction to your company and what makes it unique?

I am a one woman show at Pink Ribbon Productions. A few years ago I was really stressing out and driving myself crazy trying to keep up with everything that the larger photo companies were doing and after some soul searching I decided that my focus was going to be on taking really good pictures at an affordable price to agents. I don’t do a lot of the high end fancy photo editing- there are several awesome media companies out there doing amazing work in that area. My goal is always to showcase the property in its best light but also keep it as true to life as possible.

What’s one thing about your company that you’d like REALTORS® to know?

As a former real estate agent (I transitioned to full-time photographer in 2017) I totally get what you guys go through and strive to make my part of the listing process as painless as possible

for you and your sellers.

What’s your go-to productivity tip or tool that keeps you successful?

DROPBOX! I love Dropbox, it’s where I store all of my photos, files, tax info, and pretty

much my entire life.

What’s your favorite local spot to visit and why do you love it?

I’ve always been partial to downtown Waukesha- so many fun spots and you just never know what you will see on any given day. Peoples Park, Steaming Cup, CoPilot coffee, the Antique Mall, Friday night live.. I can’t pick just one. The Waukesha library has also been a favorite since I was a kid.
