Mental Health Awareness Month


Local resources for mental health:


- YES Program- yes.idaho.gov is one the resources that may be available to youth. They have different resources for parents and children, including safety plans, advocacy groups, and crisis numbers.

- Idaho Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health- fyidaho.org/youth/ has some different resources for youth such as places they may retreat tp for peer support. 

- Understood.org has some tools for managing emotions, school supports, and accommodations both in school and workplace. 

- PBISworld.com - This can be helpful to see what tools may ease things such as anxiety. This can be helpful for accommodations in school and work. 

- National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - has resources for youth and parents, warning signs and tools.


Spaghetti


Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef or turkey

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 jar (approx. 25 oz.) marinara sauce

- 12 ounces spaghetti pasta


Instructions

- Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add beef. Cook, breaking beef into small pieces with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through add salt.

- Reduce heat to medium and add marinara sauce to pot with beef. Fill empty marinara jar with water and add to the pot as well. Add pasta and stir. 

- Bring pasta and sauce to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring frequently to ensure pasta does not stick to the bottom. Add 1 more cup water and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until pasta is tender.

Mes de Concientización sobre la Salud Mental


Recursos locales para la salud mental:


- Programa YES- yes.idaho.gov es uno de los recursos que pueden estar disponibles para los jóvenes. Tienen diferentes recursos para padres e hijos, incluidos planes de seguridad, grupos de defensa y números de crisis.

- Idaho Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health- fyidaho.org/youth/ tiene algunos recursos diferentes para los jóvenes, como lugares a los que pueden retirarse para recibir apoyo entre pares.

Espaguetis


Ingredientes

- 1 libra de carne molida de res o pavo

- 1 cucharadita de sal

- 1 frasco (aprox. 25 oz.) de salsa marinara

- 12 onzas de pasta de espagueti


Instrucciones

- Caliente una olla grande a fuego medio-alto. Agregue carne de res. Cocine, rompiendo la carne en trozos pequeños con una cuchara de madera, hasta que se dore y esté bien cocida, agregue sal.

- Reduzca el fuego a medio y agregue la salsa marinara a la olla con la carne. Llene el frasco de marinara vacío con agua y agréguelo también a la olla. Agregue la pasta y revuelva.

- Lleve la pasta y la salsa a fuego lento. Cocine durante 15 minutos, revolviendo con frecuencia para asegurarse de que la pasta no se pegue al fondo. Agregue 1 taza más de agua y continúe cocinando, revolviendo frecuentemente, hasta que la pasta esté tierna.
