Inverness earns 32nd Consecutive Tree City USA Award
|
|
For the 32nd year in a row, Inverness has been named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management.
The Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters, sponsors the Tree City USA program.
Inverness achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program’s four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance, and proclamation.
Trees are assets to a community when properly planted and maintained. They help to improve the visual appeal of a neighborhood, increase property values, reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants, and provide wildlife habitat, among many other benefits.

50/50 Tree Planting Program Returns to Inverness
|
For over 30 years, the Village of Inverness has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA Community. The Village is committed to maintain its existing trees and partner with Inverness Residents to plant new trees.
The Village is offering a 50/50 Tree Planting Program to assist with residents to plant a new tree in the front yard of their homes. Residents will be able to select one of four tree species at a resident cost of $250.00. The tree package will include the tree, tree planting by a Village contractor, and a water bag.
This is a first come, first served program with a limited amount of each tree. Limit one tree per household. Planting will be taking place in the Spring of 2023.
