Homeowners and golfers may have noticed two large projects in separate areas of both Cottonwood and Palo Verde over the last 30 days.
On Christmas day, the Golf maintenance team got an emergency phone call from Patrol regarding a large irrigation leak on hole #7 at Cottonwood. The team discovered a 12 inch water line that had failed, causing water to flood the immediate area and spill into Alma School Road. Quick thinking staff were able to shut off the water, but an estimated 1 million gallons of water were dumped onto the property at a cost of roughly $350.
The Golf Maintenance team ended up replacing over 160 linear feet of broken irrigation pipe. This project was completed in one week with no further damage to the golf course or adjacent homeowner property.
