The Shoals EDA: History & Harmony

In our first blog post for the year 2024, we are taking a trip down memory lane to explore the history of The Shoals EDA. As we delve into the past, one word that stands out is "harmony". Although it wasn't always perfect, the people of The Shoals area have made concerted efforts to work together for the betterment of our region over many years.

Our organization was one of the first to recognize the Shoals region as a cohesive unit, 39 years ago. Since then, we have been working towards fostering harmony among the different counties, cities, and communities that make up the region. Each of them has an important role to play in creating a beautiful melody that represents the Shoals.

We're honored to announce that our President, Kevin Jackson, has been elected to the Economic Development Association of Alabama's 2024 Board. This is an exciting appointment and gives Jackson the opportunity to further position The Shoals as an ideal economic space.

Our team attended the Economic Development Association of Alabama's 2024 Winter Conference this month. It was an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the latest trends and important topics in the economic development field. The conference also provided a platform to connect with other professionals from across the state, allowing us to share best practices and foster collaboration, ultimately benefiting the State of Alabama as a whole.
