January 24: E-file Opens

January 31: File 2021 Tax Return (Form 1040) to Avoid Penalty if Last Installment of Estimated Tax Not Paid by January 18

COVID Tax Tip

The IRS is sending informational letters to recipients of the advance child tax credit payments, Letter 6419, and the third Economic Impact Payment, Letter 6475.

People receiving these letters must keep them. Do not file your tax return until you receive these letters. Do not throw these letters away. These letters are mandatory for your tax professional to correctly prepare your 2021 Individual Income tax returns. Without these letters, your refund will be delayed.
