Call to Action

Food Access and Resource Survey

The Population Health Trust recently launched a Food Security Workgroup to better understand the scope of food security in Skagit County. While information on food security is available at the national and state levels, we lack data that helps us understand specifically which residents and geographies in Skagit County are most impacted by food insecurity. Having local data will allow for the development of goals and strategies specific to the needs of our community. To address this challenge, we will be administering a survey throughout the county during the month May.

We invite all to participate and provide feedback about their experiences. If you have a few minutes to spare, please consider taking the survey.

This comprehensive child welfare resource provides state and national data on child maltreatment, foster care, kinship caregiving, permanency, and older youth in care. The data are essential to help policymakers understand how many children and youth come in contact with the child welfare system, and why. States can use this information to ensure that their child welfare systems support the safety, stability, and well-being of all families in their state.

Resources to Support Children’s Emotional Well-Being Amid Anti-Black Racism, Racial Violence, and Trauma provides recommendations for caregivers to support children who have experienced racism or racial trauma.
