Welcome new member, Stemtown Historical Society Museum!

The Stemtown Historical Society was established in 1979. Their original location was a house previously owned by the Watrous family on East Morgan Street in Green Springs. In the spring of 2023, the Society received news that the house's structural integrity was no longer safe, and the costs to repair it were unaffordable. They decided to close the museum until they could afford to rebuild or find a new home. In memory of his wife Maxine, Bud Rutherford donated $40,000 to the Stemtown Historical Society to purchase the former Calvary Church on South Kansas Street, also in Green Springs. They plan to officially reopen their doors in April 2024.

It is the mission of the Stemtown Historical Society to preserve the history of Green Springs, located in Sandusky and Seneca counties in Ohio. Their activities include gathering and disseminating historical knowledge, collecting and preserving historical things, and fostering an appreciation of historical heritage for the education and benefit of the Society's members and the general public. The Stemtown Historical Society is a museum that not only offers a place to learn about the Green Springs area and the places that once were, but they also hope to offer a research area, a place for small groups to hold meetings, and some fun events for all ages.

The Stemtown Historical Society Museum is located at 111 S Kansas St in Green Springs. For questions and information, call 419-639-0319 or email stemtownhistoricalsociety@gmail.com. Be sure to check out their Facebook page and website, stemtownhistoricalsociety.com.

Happy Feature Friday, where every Friday the Chamber team will highlight one of our fantastic members by repping them for the day and telling the community more about them. This week's Feature Friday is: Arlington Acres!

One of the most enchanting and affordable venues in the area await you, welcome to Arlington Acres! Arlington Acres is a charming northwest Ohio historic barn wedding venue nestled in the middle of corn fields and set on a working modern farm, it feels as if you're tucked away in the middle of nowhere but in truth, just minutes from Tiffin.

In 2019, John and Sarah Bolte, owners and founders of Arlington Acres, set about restoring the barn to its former glory and updating it to become a wedding venue. In 2022 Arlington Acres was awarded Heritage Ohio's Historic Farmstead of the Year Award for their restoration efforts and the list of accolades for Arlington Acres continues to grow every year including most recently the 2024 winner of The Know Best of Weddings, 2024 WeddingWire Couples' Choice Awards, and 2024 Best of Zola Award!
