Often, we hear customers say: “I didn’t know QuoteWerks did that."


We aim to deliver step-by-step instructions to guide you through actionable changes you can make to maximize the use of QuoteWerks.

Tip #1: Paste Special Wizard


No more manually-importing manufacturer part numbers, product descriptions, pricing, and more!

The Paste Special Wizard facilitates the transfer of data from external sources into QuoteWerks as quote line items, with the ability to import data from the Windows clipboard, text file, Microsoft Excel, TD Synnex shopping cart file, and the Cisco and HP configurators.


Step 1: Once you open QuoteWerks, you'll select Edit from the Menu bar, just above the main toolbar.


Step 2: From there, you'll right-click and select "Paste Special," which will open a pop up menu.


Step 3: You will be directed to select where you'll be importing your data from, map column information, and selct where to input the data on our quote.

Tip #2: Aligning Fields in the Layout Designer


QuoteWerks has many predefined quote, order, purchase order, sales order, and invoice print templates to be used when printing.


These print templates can be customized using the Layout Designer.

You can customize your document with company logos, color schemes, fonts, and much more.


In your quote, you may add fields or want to align specific text fields with each other.


Step 1: Select the fields you'd like to align and holding down CTRL and Shift.


Step 2: Right-click and select "Align" from the dropdown, where you'll be asked where in the document you'd like to have your fields aligned to.

Tip #3: Using The Links Tab


Under the Links tab, you can link external files to a quote. With all the external files related to the quote document displayed under the Links tab, finding and opening them to edit or print is very easy — just open the QuoteWerks quote and click the Links tab.

The first is the "Linked Resources," which displays document attachments such as PDFs, Excel sheets, Word documents, etc. and are manually attached. The other section is called "Auto-Links" in which contacts, opportunities, activities, and tickets are linked dynamically from the CRM/PSA selected in QuoteWerks.


To add a file to the Links tab:


Step 1: Click the dark blue plus button.


You have three options to select from: "Add a File Link," "add a Folder Link," or "Add a Web Link." You can add multiple files to the Links tab by holding down the CTRL key on your keyboard when adding items.


Step 2: Once you've added a link to the Links tab, you can edit its description by highlighting the link and either clicking the green "E" button or right-clicking on the resource and clicking "Edit Link."
