Sermon:

"Frustrated Faith"

Sacred Text:

John 12:12-19

A Word from Rev. Ray

Easter invites us into a journey filled with deep emotion—a sacred movement of the heart for all who follow Christ. We begin with the quiet humility of Maundy Thursday, move through the sorrow of Good Friday, and rise into the joy and celebration of Easter Sunday, when we proclaim with glad hearts: Christ is risen!

That sacred journey begins this Sunday, on Palm Sunday, as we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The crowds shouted with joy, “Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” It was a moment of hope and celebration.

But have you ever paused to wonder how the cries of “Hosanna” turned so quickly into “Crucify Him”? One reason, I believe, is the pain of frustrated faith—when the expectations we carry don't match the plan God is unfolding. This Sunday, we’ll reflect on that very theme and consider how it speaks to our own hearts today.

I invite you to join us for worship this Palm Sunday as we enter into Holy Week together. Come with open hearts, expecting to meet God—and you will surely be blessed.

With hope and peace,

~ Rev. Ray

Our Food Pantry's shelves are looking a little bare, so we are in need of any kind of non-perishable food donations this month! However, the specific requests from our Food Pantry Team are Peanut Butter, Crackers, and Pasta Sauce. If you are able to donate, please bring them anytime and place them in the donation cart in the foyer.

Upcoming Activities

See the Gospels come alive! On Wednesdays at 7 pm, we will gather together to watch one episode of season one of the TV series called "The Chosen", a groundbreaking historical drama based on the life of Jesus Christ, followed by some discussion. You'll encounter the Jesus story in a brand new way, through the eyes of those who knew him! You can watch a trailer of "The Chosen" here.

Don't forget to pick up your Lent Offering container. Every year we collect a special offering during the season of Lent to go to a special cause. This year our offering will go to MCC's Global Justice Institute. This organization works inside and outside of the United States to push issues of justice, peace, and equality. In the past, they partnered with places like Kenya, Eastern Europe, Jamaica, and Central America. To find out more about this organization, you can click here.

Bring in your Lent Offerings on Easter Sunday morning, April 20th.
