Halfway through the year. Not sure where time goes to but it moves way too fast.

I do like June for many reasons. First is my vacation to the beach. That is my HAPPY place, and I can't get enough of it. Second it is my birthday month. Though I don't like getting older, I do like all the attention I get on my day!

I'm trying to knock out some of my smaller unfinished projects that I have around here. I was doing very good at the first part of the year but haven't had a chance to tackle any lately. So. I hope to get back into my list and mark a few more off before the fall.

The quilter's yard sale was a great day for me. I got a lot of things moved out for that event. I hope we do it again maybe in the fall. I hope that many of you will have time to sew a little this summer. I'm always here during the week if you just want to get out of your house, give me a call. Especially those who are going to retire! Congratulations to Stephanie on her retirement.

I am scheduling a class in July. We will be making the Flag quilt again. Many of you have asked me about it. So read the details below. In August we will have another Sip & Sew day. Have a great start to your summer.

Do you like to sew for charity? Do you like to sew with friends? Come join our group of quilters who have a passion to make items and give back to the community. We will be using the conference room at the Firehouse, 1956 Urbine Road, Powhatan, VA 23139. We start at 9 AM and sew until 3 PM.

Our next meeting is June 10th, starting at 9 am. Please bring your machines. We will be working on the NICU Hearts. Please have white thread in your machines. It might be a short day as I'm away on vacation. Katina Powell will be leading the group.

We also support a nursing home in Farmville and you can give those quilts to Betsy and she will deliver those when they need them.

Welcome to a very new and special group of ladies. Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 20th. Doors open at 9 AM. This group has room for more people. So if you have wanted to learn how to do wool projects or where to start, then you need to be at our next meeting. We are going to open this group up to also include Punch needle, rug hooking and Cross Stitch. I think we have many more people who can join our group now. It is a place to learn new things all the time.

New Favorite Wool Site: Old Tattered Flag. I just love all her stuff and thanks for sharing this location with the group. We now have several of the dies.

We will be having a Saturday Sip & Sew on June 24th. This gives our full-time workers a chance to join us and have some fun. So, pack a snack and Lisa will have a cold icy drink ready if you want one. Make sure you bring your project to work on or just come and talk with everyone. It is a great day! Starts at 9 AM!

Thursday, June 29th will be our cookout for our Daycare group. Bring a small dish to share and Lisa will be cooking some hotdogs on the grill. This is again another fun day to eat and sew and celebrate my birthday!

We have done this class before, but many have asked to do it again. This is a fun day project that you will love to do. The cost will be $20 per person. Once you have paid for your spot, I will give you the fabric requirements. If you have the pattern from before and the rulers, please bring yours with you. THANKS!

Quilter's Daycare is a Thursday sew group. Please make sure that you slide over and make room for everyone that wants to sew. We have an additional room that can hold only 4 sewers. We want everyone to feel welcome. We have missed many of you. Your $5 covers your seat charge each Thursday. See you soon! Reminder the door opens at 9 am, not earlier. (I'm with mom getting her up and ready for her day)

Out list is smaller, but we still have many to keep in our prayers. Lynah, Merci and her mom, Jeanette who is traveling, Katina who is recovering nicely and many others. I will be away from mom for the week so please pray for her to be safe while I'm away. So please pray for healing and traveling mercies for our Quilting Sisters.
