Un-Decorating Day: Sunday, January 14th at 12pm

 Lutheran World Relief--Personal Care Kit

Our annual personal care kit project for Lutheran World Relief reminds us of our many blessings and a way that we can be a blessing to others.  Currently, one of our members has agreed to match the first $3,000 donated by the congregation.  Due to the rising costs of supplies for these kits,  we need to match this generous offer but also exceed it. Please make your check payable to SAKLC and enter LWR in the memo section then place it in the Sunday offering.  You can also help by donating bath size bars of soap, combs, or toothbrushes. There is a large basket in the Narthex for your donations.

Our goal once again is to assemble 1000 Personal Care Kits (PCK’s). This year we will be assembling and packing the care kits on Saturday, February 3rd, starting at 9:00am, in the fellowship hall. We will need help loading the truck on Wednesday, February 9th at 9:00 am. If you would like to help either days, please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.

Help Needed for Habitat for Humanity

SAKLC joins with other faith communities to provide financial/volunteer support Manatee County Habitat for Humanity building homes for families in need. Roger Arnholt and CSM members are organizing a volunteer construction crew for Tuesday, January 23. Work begins at 7:30am, includes a break, and ends around 11:30am. The work site is located at 1048 32nd Avenue East, Bradenton. No construction experience is necessary; work assignments will provide the opportunity for you to work within your interest and comfort level. Please email Roger directly (rogerarnholt@aol.com) to let him know of your interest, or contact the church office (941-388-1234).

ARE YOU READY FOR THE SOUPER BOWL?

Once again, SAKLC will collect funds and food for the Souper Bowl of Caring. On two Sundays, February 4^th and 11^th, look for the soup pots and table in the narthex to make your donation. If you prefer, you can donate by using the link below. Please choose “Community Service Ministry” and specify in the memo line “Souper Bowl”.

Funds will be divided equally between All Faiths Food Bank and ELCA World Hunger. Non-perishable food items (no glass, please) will be given to the Youth Shelter and Second Chance Last Opportunity.

Can we beat last year’s collection of $2,500 and 378 food items? I’m sure we can, because you’re SOUPER!

Women’s Bible Study 

On the following Tuesdays at 10:30, we'll meet in the Conference Room to discuss women in the Bible. All women are welcome.

Women’s Book Group 

On Tuesday, January 23rd, at 10:30, we'll meet in the conference room at SAKLC to discuss My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie. All women are welcome. For those who wish, we'll go out for lunch afterwards.

Join us for a special program of beloved hymns reimagined with jazz and world music! On Sunday, January 21st at 5:00 pm, Omaldo Perez, Director of Music & Worshop, will be visiting us from Grace Lutheran Church in Illinois, to play a "Dancing Around the Cross" hymn festival.

Name Tags Have Arrived!

If you’ve ordered a name tag, they are hanging on the name tag wall outside of the sanctuary. Don’t forget to wear your name tag on Sundays in order to get to know your neighbor! If you still need a name tag, please contact Nina at nina@saklc.com or at 941-388-1234.

In Need of Medical Equipment?

Are you in need of medical equipment? We often get requests from members and friends who are looking for something to borrow for a short period during recovery. Contact the Church Office if you have any medical equipments needs.

Interested in sponsoring Altar Flowers? The 2024 Flower Calendar is now in the Narthex. The following dates are in need of sponsors in the month of January:
