Prayer of the week

Dear Heavenly Father,

What joy that we can approach You in prayer, confident that You will receive us; You will listen and answer!

This week, our immediate prayers are for:

  • Donna and others who are traveling. Let them be refreshed in mind, body and spirit and bring them safely back home again;

  • Lucy who is back in UCSF because she has not been doing well after her first radiation treatment. Be with her, Lord, and her family as well as those others who are struggling with health issues. Give them the ability to help her manage her care and have it be successful. Help Eric who is still having pain after surgery and mobility issues. Give him a positive attitude and doctors who can help him recover. Be with Ron who needs help recovering and Diane who is caring for him. Give them both strength, patience and if it is Your will bring them through this trial successfully.

Be with all who need help, those who are sick or are hurting, those who are hungry, sad, lonely, or overwhelmed by the storms of life. Give them encouragement and have them learn the lessons You might be wanting them to learn through their difficulties. Have them look to the time when things in their lives are better.

Dear Heavenly Father, make use of our difficulties. Once You have helped us through suffering and given us Your comfort, help us to become comforters to others. Have us grow spiritually through our trials and be an example to others who are watching how a Christian behaves during tribulation.

Thank you for bringing the Johnsons and the Hansens home safely from the South Pacific. Be present with Sarah and Greg as they now begin settling in as a married couple.

Thank you, Lord, for always watching over us and guiding us as we try to do the right thing by all we encounter. Thank you for our new members. Have them be a blessing to our little congregation. Please continue to bless all of our endeavors, our Pastor, workers and volunteers, the school, its teachers, children and their families, and all others who support our church.

You are the Light of the world, Your name is above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. May You be glorified by my life today and always.

In Jesus' name,

Amen
