The Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau has TWO sponsorship opportunities left for our Concerts by the Lake series (The Vintage Vanguards on July 4, 1:00-2:30 p.m. and Hijinx on August 8, 7:00- 9:00 p.m.)

Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and the live broadcast starts at 11:00 a.m.

History comes to life with the traditional Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony on Sunday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m. as commercial fishing boats, tugboats, powerboats, excursion crafts, kayaks, and rowboats parade through Bayfield’s City Harbor. As they pass by the tip of the pier, clergy from the Apostle Islands community will grant each vessel a blessing for safe passage and a prosperous season on Lake Superior. Thank you to everyone who purchased a flower basket! We have sold out all of our spaces.
Consider becoming part of the flower basket watering crew. Multiple volunteers will add to the fun and lighten the load for all! These baskets are an important part of beautifying Bayfield so it's important to give them the best care possible! The days available are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Help us celebrate World Trails Day by volunteering in the Big Ravine. After this year's high water, we'll be working to get the trails back into shape by rebuilding creek crossings, restoring a section of the Pine Bluff Trail, and reestablishing the Upper Gil Larsen extension.
Bring a leaf rake, 5-gallon buckets, clippers, and a shovel. Meet at the Sweeny Switchback trailhead, 1 block west of N. Second St.

Explore the Joys of Painting Outdoors! The Plein Air of Washburn (PAW) Festival is free to attend and welcomes aspiring artists, practicing artists new to plein air, experienced plein air artists, and guests.
The three-day festival will culminate in a final celebration of artists, with the chance to view, discuss, and enjoy time together. The focus will be on oil, watercolor, and pastel techniques, as well as sharing time and insights with like-minded artists and friends.

Tickets and sponsorships are on sale for the Golf: Fore the Greater Good Tournament on June 16 in Ashland, sponsored by the Apostle Islands-Chequamegon Bay Area Community Funds.
The event raises funds to support the work of the two funds, which provide grants to nonprofits for community projects and scholarships. The funds are affiliates of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. They cover communities throughout the Bayfield peninsula, including Ashland, Bad River, Washburn, Bayfield, Red Cliff, and the Apostle Islands, including Madeline Island.

Volunteers are an integral part of the Point to La Pointe Open Water Swim. We have a number of shifts and roles available from helping with set up, sales, registration and more. Most shifts are 3 hours long. To find out all available opportunities, call the Rec Center or check out the volunteer registration tab. You can sign up for as many shifts as you can comfortably manage. When: August 2, 3, 4, & 5, 2023 Where: Bayfield, Multiple locations over multiple days(Rec Center, Howl, Beach, etc).
