State FFA Leadership Conference
Sponsorship Opportunities
|
|
The 94th State FFA Leadersihp Conference will bring together more than 1,000 students and guests in Tucson June 8-10, 2023.
The three days are action packed for the students as they attend the Career & Education Fair, workshops, compete in leadership development events, receive awards, scholarships and attend general sessions.
One of many amazing programs held during the conference is the Day of Service Program. Students will have an opportunity to package 50,000 meals through the Meals of Hope, which are donated to a local food bank. We are grateful to the Dairy Council of Arizona, who will be serving as one of the sponsors for this program and donating milk to be combined with the meals for those in need. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for this program to help us reach the goal of 50,000 meals.
We are looking for sponsors to support the State FFA Leadership Conference. If you are interested in being a part of this annual event, we encourage you to reach out for more information. You may also visit the link below.

The Dynamite Duo of Buckeye
|
|
In many cases, FFA and Agricultural Education has generations of family involvement. That is exactly the case for the Buckeye FFA advisors, Melissa Veo and Don Tramp, niece, and uncle duo. We asked them some questions to gather insight into their start in agricultural education, involvement with FFA, and their dynamic of getting to teach together at Buckeye Union High School as Buckeye’s FFA advisors. Buckeye has an outstanding chapter under their leadership, and there’s no doubt that the success they’ve found is by working together. Now, let’s jump in.
Their careers in agricultural education started very differently.
Melissa grew up in a farming family in Buckeye and is a 4th generation Buckeye Union High School graduate and 6th generation Arizonan! Melissa could hardly wait until her first day of her agriculture class. Her freshman year of high school is when she started Ag at Buckeye, and she loved it from the moment she walked into the building. Melissa has been involved in FFA from her high school days as a former Buckeye FFA Member, then onto Arizona FFA State Officer and currently an Agriculture Teacher/FFA Advisor at Buckeye.
Don grew up in Tucson, Arizona. Although his father is not currently in agriculture, he grew up on a farm in Northeast Nebraska. Don grew up in the outdoors enjoying the sports of hunting and fishing, he hiked Arizona’s beautiful trails and learned about the natural resources in Arizona. As the son of an auto mechanic, Don grew up working with machinery and vehicles. He has a degree in Environmental Resources in Agriculture from Arizona State University. Don is currently an advisor/teacher at Buckeye Union High School, and teaches agriculture biology, plant science and agriculture business classes. He started teaching agriculture education/FFA in 2013, but prior to that he was a middle school science.
