Monday, July 17

Family Storytime

11 AM at the Children & Youth Library

An energetic story and song time for children ages 0 to 5 and their families. Today we will be reading stories and singing songs about neighborhoods and communities.


Today's story time will take place outside in the courtyard just to the west of the Children's library, weather permitting.

Eureka! - Lego Ice Rescue

4 PM at the Children & Youth Library

Eureka! is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) program for kids ages 6 to 11. Join us as we learn about the freezing and melting point of water and then use what we learn to perform an icy rescue!

Learn how to play chess, or improve your game! Every Tuesday, we will have a lesson on developing your tactics and strategy. All ages are welcome.

Open Makerspace Time

3-6 PM at the Children & Youth Library

Kids and adults ages 6 and up are invited to explore the OFPL Makerspace equipment, which currently includes a 3D printer, button maker, and many engineering and STEM kits.

President Nelson Mandela inspires the South African rugby team to strive for the World Cup in hopes of soothing the country's racial tensions. Family Concert: Cowgirl Aspen Black

This fun, fast-paced, interactive musical program gets kids and families singing, dancing, playing games and winning prizes all while learning about kindness, friendship, and unity. Original and traditional songs about making friends, sharing, feeling angry or hurt, appreciating diversity, and more are interspersed with role-play, student readings, discovery games, and team-building activities to make this one-of-a-kind program unforgettable for all young Summer Readers and their families!

Crafty Kids - Fingerprint Art

4 PM at the Children & Youth Library

Kids and adults of all ages are invited to join us as we use our fingerprints to create amazing pictures!

Family Photo Scavenger Hunt

12-4 PM at Rio West Mall

Join us at the Rio West Mall for a photo scavenger hunt! Families will have to work All Together Now to find items, solve riddles, and answer trivia which can only be answered in the mall, while documenting all of their answers with photos!

Teen Makers Club

1 PM at the Main Library

Tweens and teens ages 11-18 are invited to join us to learn how to use the advanced 3D design program Blender. We will continue learning how to use this program to render our own lifelike 3D donut models.

We READ, We TALK Book Club: Santiago's Road Home with Author Alexandra Diaz

2 PM at the Rex Museum and the Main Library

Join us for a discussion of the book Santiago's Road Home with the New Mexican author of the book, Alexandra Diaz!


We will begin book club with a viewing of the World on the Move exhibit at 2 PM, followed by a discussion at the Main Library.
