St. Louis Catholic School Newsletter

March 16, 2023

Dear St. Louis Families,

Happy Thursday! We had a big week—recognizing our CYO basketball teams for a stellar season of growth and development, celebrating our 7th grade science fair students, and acknowledging our Girl Scouts in honor of the legacy of the organization. We also cheered on our Sweet 16 class teams as we cut down to the Elite 8 in our Annual Fund March Madness.

Today we had a visit from Lesole's Dance Project who are a professional dance company specializing in performances that highlight South African traditional dances, American Modern Dance, and AfroFusion Dance. Students clapped, cheered and enjoyed this wonderfully talented group. We are grateful for the PTO who sponsored this assembly for the students.

Tomorrow, students may wear green to school for St. Patrick’s Day---please send in $2 with your child to dress out—proceeds will benefit our Poor Clares Monastary. Report cards are coming home in Friday Folders tomorrow as well. Please carefully review and sign them, then return to the classroom teachers.

Monday, March 20th is an early release day for students at 11:30am. Eighth graders will be selling Chik-Fil-A sandwiches in the upper lot beginning at 11am until they sell out to raise money for their end-of-year activities. There also is a great presentation being offered Monday evening at 7pm with Mary Hasson on gender identity for parents only. We hope you can attend, see the newsletter below for more details.

Lastly, next Wednesday, March 22nd confession will be offered specifically for school families with students in grades 3-4-5 in the St. Louis Church beginning at 6pm. Come join school staff in the cafeteria afterwards for some ice cream. We will do the same thing the following week for families with students in grades 6-7-8.

Have a great weekend!

Peace and Blessings,

Anne Dyke

Principal

Gender Ideology: What Catholics (or Parents) Need to Know

The transgender movement, or "gender ideology," has permeated the culture with stunning speed, challenging the truth about "who we are" and influencing culture, education, language, and relationships. How should a Christian respond? What do parents (and grandparents) need to know? Please join us for a presentation by attorney Mary Rice Hasson, Director of the Person and Identity Project, at St. Louis parish on March 20 at 7:00pm. The Person and Identity Project is an initiative that equips parents and faith-based institutions with resources to counter gender ideology and promote the truth about the human person.
