This Week at St. Michael's

Sunday Forum:

Practically Divine

This Sunday, 9:15 AM

How can the sayings you grew up with inspire you to live a practically divine life? What are the things that draw us into experiencing the divine in others? In this Sunday's forum, The Revs. Matt and Vicki will examine some of Becca Steven's mom's sayings found in her Practically Divine book and how these and your families' sayings might be viewed through a faith lens as we practice being "practically divine."

Lenten Soup Suppers

Kick Off Feb. 21, 5:30 - 7 PM

Our Wednesday evening "Way of Love" Lenten programming begins this coming Wednesday. Join for delicious soups and fellowship followed by a discussion of the first practice in living a more Jesus Centered Life: LEARN, as we open our minds and hearts by reflecting on scripture daily. Each week, The Revs. Matt & Vicki will explore a different practice (Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, Rest & Turn) to help us better follow the loving, liberating, life-giving way of Jesus. Please RSVP to bring a soup or just your appetite!

IHN Hosting Week

Volunteer Jobs for All!

What a blessing it is that St. Michael's is in a position to provide temporary shelter, showers, and meals in our building for several families during Holy Week through Easter Day (March 24 - 31) in partnership with IHN. There are approximately 66 volunteer slots remaining, and we are hopeful everyone who is able will rally around this effort. There are jobs that need to happen in advance to get the building ready, opportunities to cook and clean during the week, and even laundry washing that can be done in your home at your convenience. We encourage you to click below to see what might speak to you and then please sign up. Children and youth are invited to participate by accompanying adult volunteers. Be sure to save the date for the IHN Volunteer Lunch & Meeting on Sunday, March 17 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM for all volunteers. Please contact our IHN Co-Leaders Kelly Belvis at kellydean0409@gmail.com or Andy Laffely at alaffely@msn.com with any questions.

The Philadelphia Eleven Documentary

March 2, 9:30 AM

The Philadelphia Eleven were the first women ordained as priests in the Episcopal Church on July 29, 1974, two years before the General Convention affirmed and authorized the ordination of women. In this feature-length documentary film, you'll meet the women who succeeded in building a movement that transformed an age-old institution and challenged the very essence of patriarchy within Christendom. Join for a showing at Colorado College's Cornerstone Arts Center, 825 N Cascade Ave, followed by a panel discussion. 9:00 Coffee & 9:30 AM Movie. No RSVP required.

An Afternoon with

The Saint John's Bible

March 9, 1:00 - 5:00 PM

Drop in for an afternoon with The Saint John's Bible anytime between 1:00 and 5:00 PM on Saturday, March 9. The docents will be showing three volumes: The Pentateuch, Psalms, and Gospels & Acts. They will also be showing the video, The Illuminator (48min), at 2:00 and 3:30 PM, which gives background information on the making of this Bible. All are welcome - no RSVP required.

Creating Space
